As we get older, we are invited not to our own birthday party, but to our kid's birthday...

アメリカでは、メキシコから来た「ピニャーダ」という習慣みたいなものがあって、招待された子供達が、くす玉みたいなものをあけて、その中からお菓子とか小さなおもちゃが出て来るというもの。
As far as I know, usually kids go crazy to pick up all the goodies, but this time since all the kids were relatively young, so they were far from greedy.
開いたら、ぞろぞろと子供が寄って来て、お菓子やらおもちゃを拾うのだけど、みんなまだ年齢的に欲がないのか、今回は、とても控えめな感じでした。
After the event, we had her birthday cake together. Well, they ordered this cake from a Japanese cake shop, so it was very tasty and good. I enjoyed it.
その後、誕生日のケーキを切って、みんなで食べました。日本のケーキ屋さんのケーキだったから、とってもおいしくて、満足でした〜！
