My big brother's family's visit:兄家族、カリフォルニアに！

Finally they could come to California to spend time with us this winter. At first, Hitomi and two kids came alone and then my brother joined in them later for 4 days. It was a very nice intensive two weeks and Edo really learned a lot from his cousins. Also we explored many kid-friendly places in the area.

ついにこの冬、兄家族が遊びに来てくれました。最初にひとみちゃんと子供達が来て、兄が残りの４日間合流という感じでしたが、本当に楽しくいろんなものが詰まった２週間でした。エドもいとこから本当にいろんなことを学んだみたいだし、おかげでこの辺りの子供が遊べそうな所もいろいろ行けました。

After their arrival in the morning, we took a walk to a park nearby, but by the time we got there, two boys were already fallen asleep.

到着した日の午後、早速散歩がてらに近くの公園へ。でも、着く頃には二人の男の子は寝てしまいました。
So it was just Minami and not many other kids in the park, so it was rather quiet day for park visit.

みなみだけだったし、ほかの子供も寒かったせいか、あまりいなくてさびしい公園でした。
We visited "Happy Hollow" where have half small zoo and half amusement park.

ハッピーホローという半分動物園、半分遊園地みたいな所に行きました。
You can ride as many as you can, so our boys went crazy for this car rides.

乗り放題で、男の子たちはこれに夢中。
It seemed to me that Edo wasn't that interested in this ride at first but I was wrong. After the ride ended, Edo refused to get off the car and asked for a second ride.

エドは最初あんまりリアンクションがなくて、怖いのかなぁと思ったら、終わってもなかなか降りなくて、気に入ったみたいです。
This ride scared Edo a little bit, so in the end Edo did not get on this one.

これは怖かったみたいで、この後、エドはこれには乗りませんでした。
They were having their afternoon snack in this place all together.

三人で仲良く、こんな所でおやつ時間をしていました。
We went on this Merry-go-around three times. If they hadn't closed, we would have gone for more rides.

メリーゴーランドも３回ぐらい乗りました。閉館じゃなかったら、もっと乗ってかな〜！
Yuta's Birthday was on December 23 and we celebrated it!

ゆうたの誕生日が１２月２３日で、お祝いをしました。
Our present for Yuta was this car garage, but he ended up leaving this present when they had to go back to Japan... I guess it was too big to bring it back, but this garage has been so popular among boys. Even now Edo plays at least once a day.

私たちからのゆうたへのプレゼントはこの車のガラージでしたが、結局日本に帰る時に持って帰れないということでおいて帰りました。でも、このガラージ、本当に家に来る男の子たちに人気がありまして、今でもエドは一日一回はこれで遊んでいます。
Christmas Eve. We opened our present and we were all happy!

クリスマスイブ。みんないろんなプレゼントを開けて、大喜び！
We went to Golden Gate Park too and got together with Magnafiume.

ゴールデンゲートパークに行って、エンリコの家族たちと合流して遊びました。
We went to "California Academy of Science" and Edo really enjoyed watching fish swimming.

カリフォルニアアカデミーサイエンスという所に行きました。エドは魚が泳ぐのをず〜っと見て楽しんでいました。
Minami was holding Edo, saying "Look! Edo, over there!"

エドくん、あそこ！見て！とみなみ。
The present for Edo from Ale was this Lego train sets. Everybody (including or especially Alessandro) could enjoy it and it was a good present. It seemed that Alessandro enjoyed playing this with Minami the most, though.

アレッサンドロからのエドへのプレゼントはこのレゴの電車セット。みんな楽しめて（アレッサンドロも）いいプレゼントみたいでした。でもアレッサンドロはみなみと一番楽しんでいたかな。
We all went to "Alcatraz" tour. It was cold, but fun.

アルカトラツのツアーにも行きました。寒かったけど、楽しかったです。
However, Edo and Yuta were sleeping through the tour.

でも、エドもゆうたもず〜っと寝てましたけど。
そこまでみんな船で行きました。

We all went to the island by boat.
Edo and Ale.

エドとアレ。
We went on a cable car ride.

みんなでケーブルカーに乗りました。
At the most famous slope in San Francisco.

有名なサンフランシスコの坂の所で。

Nonni sono arrivati!: イタリアのおじいちゃんとおばあちゃん、到着。

Since we decided not to go back to Italy for winter, Italian nonni came to California for 1.5 months.

今年の冬はイタリアに帰らないことにしたので、そのかわりに、イタリアのおじいちゃんとおばあちゃんが１ヶ月半カリフォルニアに来てくれました。

We went to a Sunday's farmer's market to get some fresh veggies.

日曜の野菜市みたいなのに一緒に買い物に行きました。
Edo was walking around in a restaurant, and his nonno was taking care of Edo there.

レストランでも歩きまわって、おじいちゃんが面倒をみてくれていました。
The nonni took care of Edo while both Ale and I were at work. They took Edo to the places where he likes a lot.

アレと私が仕事の時はエドの面倒をみてもらっていました。どうやら、エドの好きな所にいろいろ連れて行ってもらっていたみたいです。
Edo had a good time at this toy shop..

おもちゃやでいろいろ遊んだんでしょうな。
Edo went to a park nearby with his nonna.

エドはおばあちゃんと一緒に近くに公園に行ったりもしていました。
Also to the library.

図書館にも。
Just like Ale, Silvio nonno is also good at LEGO.

おじいちゃんもお父さんと同じで、レゴを作る名人みたいですな。
We went to the dumpling restaurant that Silvio nonno likes a lot.

シルビオパパが大好きという餃子のレストランに行きました。
Magnafiume visited us and spent a good time together.

エンリコの家族も来て一緒に過ごしました。
Both Edo and Sandrino looked happy in their nonna's arms.

エドもサンドリーノもイタリアのおばあちゃんにだっこされてうれしそうです。
Some of my friends came to our place fro gathering. Mariclo made a wonderful feast for us.

私の友達が家に集まってくれて、その時にマリクロおばあちゃんがいろんなイタリアの手料理を作ってくれました。
We also went to a farm nearby.

近くにあるファームに行きました。
Edo got a little bit scared by a cow, but he seemed okay in Silvio nonno's arms.

うしはちょっとこわかったけど、シルビオパパにだっこされて大丈夫かな？
It was a little cold day but we could see many animals at the farm.

ちょっと寒い一日だったけど、いろんな動物が見れてよかったです。
We also made a day trip to Carmel.

カーメルにも日帰りで行きました。
We went to a restaurant called "The Greens" in San Francisco with Magnafiume.

エンリコのところ一緒にサンフランシスコにあるオーガニック野菜で有名なレストランに行きました。
We also went to a farm in Berkeley, where we could feed the animals there.

バークレーにあるファームにも行きました。ここでは野菜をあげることもできて、楽しめました。
Edo received so many presents... lucky boy!

いろんなプレゼントをもらって、本当にエドは幸せものです、、、。
We are getting more Edo's toys, so we bought a piece of furniture at IKEA to organize his toys. Silvio nonno checked this furniture but I guess Edo was in his way...

おもちゃも増え、それを収納する家具をIKEAで買いました。シルビオパパがその家具をチェック。エドはちょっと邪魔してるのかな、、、。

1.5 months really passed by so quickly and we were very happy to have them here in California with us. Please come back again soon.

一ヶ月半はあっという間で、本当にいい時間を過ごしました。また遊びに来てもらいたいです。
