スタンフォードベイビー、スパイダーマンベイビー
Last year when I was still pregnant, one of my students gave me a gift. (Stanford socks) When I received them, they looked so small and it was hard to believe that Edo could put them on, but Edo's feet were too small and finally grew enough to put on this socks.
去年、まだ妊娠中だった時に、教え子がくれたスタンフォードのソックス。もらった時は、こんなに小さいのに入るのかな〜なんて思っていたけど、、、。英土の足はとても小さくて、やっとこのソックスもはけるようになりました。
These days, Edo enjoyed playing with his own fingers, so whenever and wherever, he plays with his hands. His hand movements remind me of the spider man.
そして、最近は、指遊びが大好きで、気がつけば、いつも自分の指で遊んでいます。なんとなく、スパイダーマンが、スパイダーの糸をあんでるかんじですが、、、。

Pizza Night: ピザ
Ale's mother made three different kinds of pizza for dinner.
アレのお母さんが、３種類のピザを作ってくれました！
Her home-made pizza was the best! Grazie!
やっぱり手作りピザはおいしいわ〜！

After a long walk, it's nice to get free massage in the chair.
うろうろした後は、この椅子でマッサージが効きます。

My Birthday: 私の誕生日
My birthday was on Thursday and my school just started, so for my birthday Ale's mother made a cake and dinner.
私の誕生日は木曜日で、ちょうど大学も始まり、忙しかったのだけど、アレのお母さんがケーキにディナーと作ってくれました。
This is after dinner... with cake.
夕食後、、、ケーキで祝う。

And then with Magnafiume, we went out to a French restaurant in Menlo Park close to where we live on the weekend.
でもって、その週末、エンリコ家族達も一緒に、家の近くにあるフランス料理のレストランで祝ってもらいました。

After we came back from the restaurant...
その後、家に帰って、、、。
Two babies were awake and got to know each other...
二人の赤ん坊も目を覚まし、お互いなんとなく、、、興味を持ちつつある感じでした、、。

Ale's company picnic: アレの会社のピクニック
A few times a year, Ale's company organize some gathering, inviting employees' family.
年に２、３回ほど、アレの会社が、社員の家族を招いて、こういう企画をしてくれます。
今回は、英土のお披露目の機会となりました。
This time, it's an opportunity for Ale to show Edo to his colleagues.
Edo is in Jinbei and ready to know daddy's friends.
英土は甚平を着ていきました。「さむらいベイビーだね〜」と。でも、実は、起きていたのはほんのわずかで、ピクニック中、けっこう寝てました。
It was a wonderful weather and of course there was BBQ!
いい天気で、もちろんBBQでした。
Since Ale's parents were with us, they joined us too.
アレの両親も一緒に行きました。

To Fishmarket restaurant: シーフードのレストランへ
Since we are all seafood lovers, we went to this restaurant together.
シーフード好きな私たち、みんなでこのレストランに行ってきました。
Silvio is in fact such a romanticist. He grabbed an empty shell and opened it, meaning it looks like a shape of heart!
けっこう、シルビオパパのおちゃめなところがなんとも。貝をひろげて、♡だなんて。
Ale still wants to have his weird face for photo taking.
アレは、相変わらず、変な顔をして写真にうつりたがります。

Arpita and Samir visit: アピータとサミールの訪問。
It has been a while since we saw them last time.
最後にあってから、どのぐらい経つかしら。
They came to visit us at our place and meet Edo this time for the first time.
私たちのところに、英土に会いに来てくれました。

Nursing club: 授乳クラブ
Somehow both cousins synchronize each other whenever we get together.
One gets hungry and soon after the other gets hungry too.
One starts crying and soon after the other starts crying too.
いとこ同士だからなのか、集まると、二人はシンクロナイズするみたい。
一人がお腹がすき始めると、もう一人も同じようになるみたい。
そして、一人が泣き始めると、もう一人も泣き始めたりして、、、。
We can't wait for two of them playing together.
二人で遊んでくれる日が待ち遠しいです。

Class of accessories making: アクセサリー作りのクラスへ
Magnafiume gave Ma and me a birthday present! We all went to this class to make accessories.
エンリコ家族が義母さんと私にくれた誕生日プレゼント！一緒に、アクセサリーを作るクラスへ行ってきました。
The class started with the tools for making accessories.
クラスでは、道具の説明から始まりました。
This is the tool for designing our accessories.
こういう道具もあって、これで、いろんなデザインを考えます。
We are all concentrating on making our accessory.
みんな真剣に作ってます。

Happy Birthday for Edo for 2 months:
英土の２ヶ月目の誕生日！
Two months has already passed since Edo was born.
We celebrated with Edo's nonni
英土が産まれて、はや２ヶ月。英土のイタリアのおじいちゃんとおばあちゃんと一緒にお祝いをしました。
We all said to Edo, "Auguri!".
英土に、みんなで、「おめでとう〜！」と言ったら、この表情。
Edo's nonni brought so many nice presents from Italy. Edo can't wait to wear them. Soon he should be able to wear them since he is growing very fast.
イタリアからわざわざいろいろ買って来てくれたプレゼント。英土が着るのもすぐでしょう。成長は早く、もう着れない服もちらほらでてきています。

Our 3rd Anniversary: 私たちの３年目の結婚記念日
We have been married for three years now. The 3rd year has been a dramatic change for us since we had Edo. This year, Ale's mother suggested that we go out alone for dinner while she is taking care of Edo at home. So Ale took me to a nice restaurant for our anniversary.
３年目が終わり、４年目に入ります。３年目は英土が産まれたこともあって、結婚生活にもかなり変化があったかな。今年は、アレのお母さんが英土をみているから、二人でロマンティクなディナーにいってらっしゃいと言ってくれたので、アレが素敵なレストランに連れていってくれました。

After coming back home, we celebrated our day with Ale's parents at home. They gave us a lot of presents!
家に帰ってから、アレの両親と一緒に祝いました。アレの両親からいろんなプレゼントをもらいました。ありがとう〜！有名なスイスのチョコレート!

To Jewish Museum：
ユダヤ博物館へ：
Magnafiume called us in the afternoon and suggested to go to some special exhibition in Jewish Museum in San Francisco.
エンリコ家族から午後電話があって、サンフランシスコのユダヤ博物館である特別展に行かないかというお誘いが。で、行ってきました。
They renewed the museum recently and it was a very nice museum.
最近改装したらしく、とってもおもしろい建物でした。

San Francisco is always cold even in summer, so you have to have some jacket to go around. So, this Magnani family all in Patagonia!
サンフランシスコはいつも寒いので、夏でもフリースが欠かせません。で、「マニャーニ家族、パタゴニアを着る」っていう感じでした。
For dinner, we went to a pizza place nearby. One of few family pictures of us.
ディナーは、近くのピザ屋にしました。数少ない私たちの家族写真です。でも、エドの表情が少し不自然だけど、、、。

Ma's Birthday Party at our place:
我が家でお義母の誕生日パーティー
This year we decided to have Ma's birthday at our place with Magnafiume.
I cooked some Japanese dishes and Elisa made a birthday cake for Ma.
今年は我が家でお義母さんの誕生日をすることにしました。エンリコ家族も来て一緒に祝いました。私が日本料理を何品か作り、エリザがケーキを焼いて持って来てくれました。
When I was cooking, just as always, Ale helped me. These days, Ale became a professional assistant for me because he knows what to do and how to cut each vegetable in certain ways, depending on what kind of Japanese dishes I make. Very helpful!
料理してると、いつものように、アレが手伝ってくれました。最近はアレもプロ並みのアシスタントで、乱切りや千切りなど、私が言わなくても、料理に合わせて準備してくれます。

Since this year, we have two entertainers joined in the party, so this year's party was a lot of laughs and joy. Pa looked very happy with two of his grandchildren. :)
もちろん、今年の誕生日には、二つの華が加わり、楽しいものとなりました。シルビオパパはとってもうれしそうでしょ。実は、この後、お義母も同じような写真を撮ろうとしたのだけど、サンドリーノもエドもご機嫌ななめになって、泣き始めて、いい写真が撮れませんでした。シルビオパパは、その様子を見て、ちょっと嬉しそうだったりして、、、。

Happy Birthday for Ma! : お誕生日おめでとう！お義母さん！
Last year we celebrated together in Italy. This year in California.
We went to a restaurant in Palo Alto for lunch to celebrate.
確か去年はイタリアで、そして今年はカリフォルニアで。
パロアルトのレストランにランチをしに行って祝いました。
Nice couple as always.
いつも本当に仲のいい夫婦で、見習わなくては。
This restaurant was Spanish cuisine and we ordered several dishes and shared together. They were all really good. Happy Birthday Ma!
スペイン料理のお店で、何種類か頼んでみんなで色々食べてみました。美味しかった。そして、お義母さん、おめでとう！

Cutting hair: ヘアカット
I have been thinking of getting hair cut since it's more convenient for me to deal with Edo with short hair cut.
髪を切ろうとちょっと前から考えていて、、というのも、英土の育児をしてると短い髪の方が手入れも楽かなぁと思い、、、。
We are about putting Edo in the bath. Only recently, Edo started liking bath. When he is in the bath, he looks very relaxed and comfortable.
これから、二人で英土をお風呂に入れるところです。最近、英土もお風呂が好きになったみたい。気持ちよさそうにしています。

Pumpkin gnocchi: パンプキンニョッキ
I haven't eaten pumpkin gnocchi for a long time and I asked Ma if it's difficult to make...
パンプキンニョッキ、長いこと食べてないなぁと思い、お義母さんに作るのが難しいかどうか聞いたところ、、、作ってもらえることに、、、。
Ale and Ale's mother are making dinner together.
アレとアレのお母さんが作ってくれているところ、、、。
They are working really hard and serious!
もくもくと作業をする二人。
