Happy birthday with Magnafiume:エンリコ夫婦とアレの誕生日を祝う
アレの誕生日は一緒に祝えなかったからと、週末に来てくれました。
Since they couldn't celebrate on Ale's birthday together, they came to our place this weekend.
Elisa's baby seemed very big now..
エリザの子どもはかなり大きくなってて、びっくり。
After dinner, we started preparing for dessert. Elisa baked a very nice birthday cake for us.
ディナーの後、デザートの準備。ケーキはエリザが手作りで焼いてくれました。
Ale received a nice present from them. A bottle of dessert wine. He looked really happy.
で、アレもプレゼントをもらって大喜び。ちょっとファンシーなデザートワインで、とってもうれしそう。
This is the cake that Elisa made and Ale was about cutting the cake.
で、こちらがエリザが焼いてくれたケーキで、入刀はアレが。
After dessert and cake, we felt so full. So we started talking about Elisa's new camera. This time her camera was charged to take pictures. :P
デザートもケーキも食べて、お腹が一杯になったところで、エリザの新しいカメラ（今回はちゃんと充電もされてました）を披露。
They said that there are many settings and they can take black-white pictures, so I want to compete with them with my small camera. So I took a black-white camera with mine too. Not too bad, huh?
白黒でも撮れるよ〜って、、私のカメラだって、白黒撮れるよ〜と負けじと。
My camera can do this setting too.
私のカメラはセピアだってできるし。

久々の外食とニューイタリア人：Eating out with a new Italian.
Ale ran into Paolo a while ago on the train. They knew each other from their college back in Italy, but at first they couldn't remember them each other, but Paolo came up to Ale and asked him if they know each other. Anyway, it's been 13 years since they met last time...
ちょっと前に、帰りの電車でアレがパオロさんに会った。どうやら、イタリアの大学時代の知り合いらしいのだが、二人とも始めは何だか見覚えはあるけど、思い出せないという感じだったらしい。そこへパオロさんがアレのもとにやってきて、「どこかで会ったと思うのだけど、、」と声をかけてくれたらしい。どうやら、１３年ぶりの再会が、カリフォルニアとは。
世の中って狭い！どこで誰に会うかわからないもんです。
Since this is a good occasion, so we arranged to go out sometime together, so I picked this Japanese tapas style kind of restaurant , Gochi. We ate a lot.. The more people the more variety of foods. Nice.
こういう機会だし、どこか美味しいところでお食事をということになり、日本の居酒屋創作料理みたいなお店のゴチに行きました。よく食べた〜！

Happy Birthday for Ale: アレ、誕生日おめでとう！
It's the 19th of January. Luckily, this year it was a vacation for me, but not for Ale. So I spent a day preparing for some nice dinner at home.
１月１９日。今年は、私は休日だったのだけど、アレはお仕事。てなわけで、一日かけて、何かいい晩ご飯でもと腕によりをかけて作りました。
This is a big chunk of parmesan cheese which Ale's parents asked Enrico to bring back to us. Huuuge!
これは、アレの両親がエンリコ夫婦に頼んで私達に、とくれたパルメザンチーズ。でかっ！
It did not take Ale to finish the dinner, so we couldn't take a picture of it, but we managed to take a picture of the apple tart for his birthday cake.
アレがすんごい勢いでディナーを食べ始めたもんだから、写真もとれず。ま、せめて、アップルタルトケーキはとることができました。

Tonbe and Chiichan sent Ale a birthday present. It arrived earlier, but Ale waited to open it until today. It was a digital photo frame. Thanks!
とんべとちーちゃんがアレに誕生日プレゼントを送ってくれていて、ちょっと前に着いていたのだけど、アレは誕生日まで待つといい、今日まで待ってました。で、中からデジタルの写真たてがでてきました。ありがとう〜！

Academy of Science: アカデミーオブサイエンス（博物館）
Well, this place has been renewal open and very popular. Ale has been bugging me to visit this museum for a long time. So finally we were there, but...
この場所はリニューアルしてからすごく人気スポットなのです。アレは随分前から、行こう、行こうと言ってたので、ま、やっと来てみたのだけど、、、
We were not sure about this big crowd. Is this because the day was a middle day in the long weekend?? Anyway, the left side of the entrance is just for those who have their membership while the right side is those who have already bought tickets. We did not know about it, so we were standing in the line for a while and found out later that the line was just for those with the tickets. Even then, they have to wait at least for 1.5 hours before entering the museum. Next time, we have to buy our tickets on line and visit here on weekdays, maybe. I wonder how great this place is...
３連休のなか日だからなのか、休日だからなのか、すごい人でした。ちなみに入り口右側の列はこのアカデミーの会員だけ、そして、左側の列が、もう切符を購入した人の列。始めは、そうとは知らず、左の列に待ってたんだけど、係の人が「切符がないと並んでいても、、」と教えてくれて、あきらめました。切符があっても１時間半待ちだとか。どうやら次回はネットで切符を買って、平日に来るしかないみたい。う〜ん、そんなにいいのかな、、ここ。
Instead, we visited De Young Museum located in the front of the academy.
そのかわりに、博物館の前にあるディオン美術館に行きました。
After De Young, since it was a beautiful day, and we were in Golden Gate Park, and Elisa brought her brand-new camera, so we took a long walk in the park.
そのあとは、天気もよかったし、せっかくゴールデンゲートパークに来たんだし、エリザの新しいカメラもあるし、と公園内を散歩しました。
Its' about taking pictures, Elisa found out that her camera ran out of battery. So we used our camera to take her camera. :P
写真をとろうという時になって、エリザは、、カメラのバッテリーがなくなっているのに気づき、写真はとれず。私達のカメラで、エリザのカメラを撮ってあげました。てへ。

中華料理の外食：Going out to a Chinese restaurant
There are so many good restaurants and shops in Tokyo. My brother knew good restaurants and we went out for lunch. They were really good!
東京って、本当にいいレストランやらお店が多い。兄はいいレストランをよく知っていて、ランチに連れて行ってもらいました。本当においしかった〜！
個室で、ゆったり食べられました。
We got our private room, so we could enjoy the foods in our pace.
ライチの後は、その周りを散歩しました。東京って本当に面白いところが多いなぁとつくづくと思いました。
After lunch, we walked around the area. Tokyo has a lot of interesting places to visit...

初詣：Shrine visit
兄家族の近くにある神社にお参りに行ってみました。平日はガラガラで人気がないらしいなのだけど、列ができてて、びっくりでした。お正月ですな〜。
We went to a shrine near where my brother's family lives. Usually there are no one in this shrine, but since it's a new year's day, it was a long line.
Long line... it was kind of cold, so we were wondering if we should wait in a line or not..
長い列、、そして寒く、、、並ぶべきか並ばぬべきか悩んだあげく、、
せっかく来たんだし、ということで並びました。
Since we came, so we waited in the line...
お参りもしました。「今年もよい年でありますように、、、！」
We prayed too. "Wishing this year is also a good year for us!
