エンリコ夫婦とサンフランシスコオーケストラのコンサートへ
The second time to go to this symphony hall for me. This time with Enrico and Elisa. We couldn't get seats next to them, and they got their seats behind the orchestra, so we could see them too. :)
このシンフォニーホールは２度目になる。そして今回はエンリコとエリザと一緒。でもとなりの席を取れず、彼らはオーケストラの後ろの席に。というわけで、オーケストラと共に彼らも見えたりなんかしました。 Can you find Elisa and Enrico posing for my camera?

Since Ale has been crazy about Mozart these days, again they played Mozart (Piano Concerto #18 in B-flat major, K.456) with other two not-so-well-known music. In any case, Mozart piece was very impressive and wonderful. We really enjoyed it a lot partially because we studied it and listened to it over and over again.
このごろ、アレがモーツァルトに凝っているので、今回も再びモーツァルトのコンサートへ。でも、今回はモーツァルトのピアノ協奏曲１８番変ロ長調とあと２曲はあんまり知られてない作曲家のものだった。ま、モーツァルトはとっても印象的ですばらしかった。とっても満足でした。というおも、おそらくこの協奏曲１８番は色々読んだり楽譜を見たり、何万回も聞いてるからかもしれないけど、、。

Restaurant "Paul K "in San Franciscoサンフランシスコの「ポールK」というレストランへ
There are so many restaurants in S.F. that I want to try out. "Paul K" is a sophisticated Mediterranean restaurant. These below are the dishes we tried there.
サンフランシスコには行ってみたいレストランがわんさかあって、「ポールK」は少し洗練された感じの地中海料理のレストランで、下の写真は我々が食べたものです。

I had this one called "eggplants napoleon". Very healthy but filling dish.
「ナポレオン茄子？」っていう茄子料理。とってもヘルシーなのにお腹にはずっしりとくる一品でした。
Ale had this one. Yes beef! Ale was really satisfied with this plate. However, I remember that he was saying before coming to this restaurant, "I am not that hungry, so I might just have some appetizer dishes..." uhm... this is what he calls "appetizer"?
アレが食べたのがこれ！牛肉！とっても気に入った模様。でもね、ふと思い出したんだけど、アレはこのレストランに向かってる途中、「あんまりお腹がすいてないから、前菜みたいなのをたのもっと、、」って。っていうか、これが前菜か〜？とつっこみたい。
Enrico had this fish one. He liked it, I think.
エンリコが食べたのが魚料理の一品。気に入ってたみたい。
Elisa had this sample plate.
エリザは、このサンプルプレート。
Ale and I shared this dessert... it was a lot smaller than we had thought.
アレと一緒に食べたのがこのデザートだけど、思ったよりずいぶん小さくて、、

well it was good! After this restaurant, we went to S.F. Symphony concert.
ま、なかなかおいしかったです。このレストランの後、サンフランシスコのシンフォニーのコンサートにむかいました。

Buon Compleanno per Silvio: シルビオ（義父）の誕生日
It's Silvio's birthday and we decided to go out for dinner for him. There was a French Asian? restaurant that I wanted to go and check it out for a long time, so here is the opportunity...
お義父さんの誕生日だから、外食でもするか〜となりまして、気になっていたご近所のレストラン（フレンチーアジアだと思う）へ行って来ました。
Ale tried to be funny... I suppose.
たぶん、面白い写真にしようとしてるんだと思うけど、、、。
We had two different beers: one from Vietnam and one from Thailand.
２種類のビールを試してみました。一つはベトナムので、一つはタイから。
Papaya salad with shrimps. パパイヤサラダのえびのせ
Calamari fritta and thin noodles with deep friend crab meat.
いかの揚げ物に、春雨の上に揚げ蟹肉のソースがけ。

Report: The main dishes were rather oily heavy and they tended to use too much garlic, so it was a little bit disappointing, but I liked the salad.
レポート：メインはちょっと脂っこい重みがあったし、ニンニクを使いすぎの感があって、ちょっと期待はずれかなぁ。でもサラダは美味しかった！

There is another restaurant nearby that I want to try, so I am wondering if anyone wants us to celebrate your birthday. :p
近くにもう一つ行ってみたいレストランがあるのだけど、だれか自分の誕生日を祝ってもらいたい人がいましたら一報を。

Shopping: ショッピング
It's Monday, but it's spring break for me. My friend asked me if I like to go shopping with her. Of course, yes!
月曜日、でも春休みな私。友達が一緒に買い物にいかない？と誘ってくれたので、もちろん行って来ました！It was a big sale, so I got these two around $20. Not bad, huh?
バーゲンだったので、この２着で２０ドルでした。悪くないでしょ？
Today's best buy were this dress and a pair of sandals. Usually this brand is expensive, but it was 75% off, so it was very reasonable. I cannot wait for the summer to come...
今日の一番の収穫は、このワンピースとサンダル。このブランドは、普通だと高いのだけど、７５％オフだったので、とってもお買い得になりました。早く夏がこないかな〜！

Yes, I bought something for Ale too, but he already went out for work with his new shirt, so I couldn't take a picture of it.
ええ、もちろん、アレにも買いましたよ。でもさっそく新しいシャツを着て仕事に行ってしまったので、写真は取れずじまい。

After the concert, Magnafiume invited us to their place for their hand-made green tea icecream.
コンサートの後、エンリコ夫婦が手作りの抹茶アイスでもてなしてくれた。Also some nice dessert liquors with Easter chocolates. デザート系のアルコールとイースターのチョコレートも。

Magnafiume gave us the tickets as a Christmas present, so we were looking forward to this concert for a while and finally the weekend came.
エンリコ夫婦がクリスマスプレゼントにくれたチケットで、とても楽しみにしていて、やっとその週末が来ました。The pianist was very powerful and impressive.
ピアニストはとても力強く印象的だった。

He played Beethoven's piano sonata (#9, #10, #15, #8). The last one was the most famous one and surely you have heard of it. Also this piano sonata(Pathétique) is considered as one of the best 3 piano sonata. (#14(moonlight), #23(appassionata))
ベートーベンのピアノソナタ（９番、１０番、１５番、８番）を演奏した。最後の８番は一番有名で、聞いたことがあるはずだと思う。特に第２楽章。このピアノソナタ（悲愴）はベートーベンの３大ピアノソナタの一つとされている。（ちなみに他の二つは１４番（月光）と２３番（熱情））

Car Mall: 自動車の街へ
We had some troubles with our car, so we had to bring our car to the dealer. This town is "car mall" and there is nothing but car dealers.
車の調子が少し悪かったので、ディラーに持って行きました。この街は、「車のモール」で、車のディラー以外は何もありません。While Mazda dealer was fixing our car, we walked around in the town to have a look at cars.
マツダディラーが車を診てくれている間、うろうろ歩きまわって、車を見て回りました。
At this place we found "starbucks coffee" drive-through. I have never seen starbucks drive-through.
ここで、スターバックスのドライブスルーを見ました。スタバのドライブスルーなんて初めて見ました。
Sakura seems to be one of the popular trees in California. I have seen so many sakura trees here. Sakura blooming makes me feel at home, somehow.
桜はカリフォルニアではよく見かける木のようで、桜をよく見ます。桜が開花するとなんとなく日本っぽくって好きです。

California Ave Farmer's market: ファーマーズマーケット
Every Sunday, all the year around, they are open. We have been frequent customers for some shops whose owner started recognizing us.
年中、毎週日曜日、行われるマーケット。最近では、私たちの顔を覚えてくれているおじさんもいたりするぐらい通っています。A sunny day like this, we see more people and more vegetables and fruits.
こういう晴れた日は、人も多かったり、野菜や果物も若干多かったりします。
They blocked cars from the street.
車両禁止となり、歩行者天国です。
This flower shop is Ale's favorite. He sells mostly orchids. They are very reasonable. Smaller ones start around $7.
アレの好きな花屋さん。蘭を専門に売ってるみたいで、値段もかなりお手頃。小さいのは７ドル（７００円ぐらいから）だったりします。
This is the stand where we usually buy our sunday breakfast. Morning buns for Ale and Chocolate Croissant for me.
このスタンドが、私たちが朝ごはんを調達するところで、アレはここでモーニングバンを、私はチョコレートクロワッサンを買います。
More flowers. These days I feel like buying cut flowers. Though they last 7 days at most, it is nice to have flowers on a dinning table, so that I can keep our living tidy. :)
花屋さんも多いかなぁ。このごろ、切り花を買いたくなることが多い。こういう花は持って７日間ぐらいだけど、花をダイニングテーブルに飾るのっていいなぁと、それに、花のおかげで、部屋を綺麗にキープしようと思えるから不思議です。

To "Incanto": 「インカント」へ
Since Giorgio kept saying that "you should try this place definitely!", so here we are at this restaurant.
ジョルジョに「このレストランはぜぇ〜〜ったいに行かなきゃ！」と言われ続けていたので、行って来ました！It was a little bit difficult to find this restaurant, but we managed to arrive here.:)
ちょっと来るまでに迷ってしまったけど、無事に到着しました。
This is a plate of breads. Somehow those free? stuff makes me happy especially when they are really good. Herb bread, french bread, paste of olives... We asked for another plate after. :P
パン皿です。こういうただの物がこういう感じよかったりすると、得した気分になるというか。ハーブのパンに、普通のフランスパン、そして、オリーブのペーストがありました。おかわりもしました。てへ。

前菜のプレート。いろんな種類の生ハムがあって、美味しかったです。

This is what I ordered. It was a little bit heavy, but very tasty.
これが私の注文したもの。ちょっと重い感じでもあるけど、とっても味がしっかりしておいしかったです。

これがアレが注文したもの。上にのってるのが、魚のたまごの薫製みたいなやつで、おいしそうでした。
As our sharing second dish, we ordered a duck leg. It was very good, but we were kind of full by then.
これがシェアしたセカンドデッシュの、ダックの足。とっても美味しかったけど、もうかなりお腹いっぱいで、、、
However, we had separated stomach for desserts. Those were really really good. I would say that the desserts were the best among all.
でも、デザートは別腹かな。とってもおいしかった。ほんとうに。このレストランで一番気に入ったのはデザートかも。

Campus Tour:キャンパスツアー
Since a friend of mine visited us here at Stanford, we did a tour or just walking around ? on campus.
友達がスタンフォードに来てくれたので、キャンパスツアーというか、キャンパス歩きまわりをしました。Usual scene on weekends here. Many people (who have to graduate from Stanford) get married here on weekends. Now 75,000 couples got married here.
ここらでよく見かけるシーンです。週末は卒業生がよく結婚式をあげていて、どうやら、既にトータルで７万５千カップルが結婚したとか。

Packet from Genova, Italy: イタリアのジェノバからの小包
An unexpected packet has arrived today. I came back home and we opened it together.
It was from Ale's aunt and uncle in Genova for Easter. A lot of chocolates. :)
In fact, we almost finished all the chocolates from Christmas.. :P
今日は予期せぬ小包が届きました。家に帰って一緒に開けました。それは、ジェノバに住むアレの伯父さんと伯母さんからで、イースターのチョコでした。実は、クリスマスにもらっていたチョコレートがなくなって来たところだったので、、、へへへ。There are two packets in the box and one of them was a box of dark chocolates in very colorful wrappings. (Look at outside. Daylight saving time started last week, so it was already around 6:30 pm, but it was still bright outside. The vase flowers are from the farmer's market on weekends.)
小包の中には２つ箱入りの包みがあり、その一つは、カラフルな包みのダークチョコレートでした。（ところで、窓の外を見てください。先週からサマータイムが始まり、６時半というのに、この明るさ。でもって花瓶のお花は週末のファーマーズマーケットで買いました。）

We have to eat slow... but usually it doesn't take long for us or Ale to finish them...

Hinamatsuri:ひな祭り
My mother sent me a box of goodies from Japan. Inside the box there are a lot of things related to "hinamatsuri", so I started feeling like celebrating Hinamatsuri at home.
母が日本から送ってくれた箱が届き、その中には「ひな祭り」にちなんだものがたくさんあり、なんだかとってもひな祭りな気分になって、家でも我が家なりに祝うことにしました。
This is nothing to do with Hinamatsuri, but Magnamotto's house way to celebrate. I baked "ricotta cake". (Tulips are from the farmer's market.)
これは全然ひな祭りぢゃないけど、我が家風に祝うことにしたので、、、リコッタケーキを焼きました。（テーブルの上のチューリップはファーマーズで買いました。）
For Hinamatsuri, we eat a kind of "sushi" called "chirashizushi".
ひな祭りなので、やっぱりちらし寿司かと。
Zoomed in the sushi. I put two huge shrimps on the top of it. There is a soup too.
寿司にズームイン！大きな海老をのせてみました。そしておすましも。
本当にたらふく食べました。

We went to a farmer's market in the morning. Every Sunday these days we eats our breakfast (a morning bun for Ale and a chocolate croissant for me) at a farmer's market with a cup of cafe latte from Starbucks.
朝、ファーマーズマーケットに行った。この頃ほぼ毎週日曜日はファーマーズマーケットで（アレはモーニングシナモンシュガーロール、私はチョコレートクロワッサン）朝ご飯を済ませている。近くにスターバックスがあるので、そこでカフェラッテを買って、それを片手にファーマーズマーケットをうろうろ。
After spending 1.5 hours at the farmer's market, we came home and fixed a light lunch. Today's soup is "chicken broth base soup with shiitake, asparagus, and sirataki noodle.
Very healthy lunch. :)
ファーマーズマーケットで１時間半ほど過ごして帰宅して、昼食。今日のスープは、チキンベースのスープに椎茸、アスパラガス、しらたきを入れました。とてもヘルシーなランチでした。
