Gifts: プレゼント
We received so many gifts from people. Our door bell kept ringing almost every day ever since we came back home from the hospital.
いろんな人からプレゼントが送られてきました。病院から帰ってきてから、けっこう宅配の人が毎日のようにいろんなものを届けてくれました。

予期せぬアレの会社からも、英土の名前と誕生日を縫い込んだブランケットが届きました。
We actually wanted to buy this for Edo ourselves, since Edo started moving his eyes and following the things that he sees. Elisa's mother gave this as a gift.
これは、見つけた時、買おうかな〜と思っていたもので、ちょうど英土も、物を目で追うようになってきたので、いいなぁと思っていたところに、エリザのお母さんがプレゼントしてくれました。

Meeting his Nonni for the first time: イタリアのおじいちゃん＆おばあちゃんと初対面
Ale's parents finally came to California in the end of July and they are going to stay here in California for 2 months.
アレの両親がついに７月下旬にカリフォルニアに来ました。これから、カリフォルニアに２ヶ月滞在してくれます。

Edo's toe fingers and fingers: 英土の手足
Edo's toe fingers and fingers are definitely from Ale. They are still tiny and small, but their shape are just like Ale's.
英土の手足の指はアレと驚くほど同じ。まだとっても小さいけど、形はアレのとそっくり。

First time for many things... : 初めてのいろいろ、、
There are so many things for the first time for Edo. Edo's reaction for those experiences varies: shocking, crying, smiling, being confused. Little by little, through these experiences, he will get to know this world better.
英土にとって、色々なことが初めてで、時にはびっくりしたり、泣いたり、笑ったり、困惑したりしている姿を見ると、いろいろな経験値をあげて、人間になっていくんだなあと思ったりします。
Bath for the first time. His reaction was "crying and screaming". Only recently he became to realize that taking a bath is not as bad as he'd thought, so less crying...
初めてのお風呂。反応は、泣き叫ぶでした。でも、最近になって、ようやく、そんなに悪いもんじゃないとわかったみたいで、泣かなくなりました。（経験値アップ）
Bottle feeding for the first time. I have been breast feeding Edo, but I pumped some milk and had Edo's father to feed him. I heard that some kids refuse bottles, but Edo... accepted, no problems.
初めての哺乳瓶：母乳でがんばってるけど、少し搾乳してアレに哺乳瓶でやってもらいました。子供によっては、哺乳瓶を受け付けない子もいるとかでしたが、英土の場合は、全く問題なく、受け付けてくれたみたいです。
On his father's arm for the first time. I don't know how long Ale can hold Edo like this since Edo is growing fast, but he did not seem to mind to be held like this. Good for Ale to build some　muscles.
お父さんの腕にこんな感じ：あとどのぐらいアレが英土をこうやって腕で支えられるかは定かじゃないけど（というのも、英土はすくすくと成長しているので）、こんな風に抱かれても全然大丈夫みたい。というか、アレの方が大丈夫じゃないかな？いいウェイトトレーニングになります。

To San Francisco with Edo: 英土をつれてサンフランシスコへ
It's been a while since we came to S.F. However, it was rather windy and cold in the city.
最後にサンフランシスコを訪れてから随分になる。残念ながら、この日は、とても風があって、寒い一日でした。

This time, actually, we had to go to Japanese consulate in the city, but since we were in the city, we also went to a restaurant for raw oysters!
で、今回は、日本領事館に来るついでに、久々に美味しい生牡蠣を食べに来ました！
During my pregnancy, I was not allowed to eat any sorts of raw stuff, so these raw oysters were quite treats for me this time.
妊娠中は、とりあえず、生ものは食べては行けなかったので、こういった生牡蠣は本当に久しぶりで、本当に満足でした。

We are Mac people: Macを使ってます！
Since my mom got her a mac, we realized that we have all different kinds of mac on the table.
うちの母もMacを手に入れたので、気がついたら、テーブルの上にいろんな種類のMacがならんでいました。
We were having some tea with our own computer.
ちょっとした朝の光景です。

Discharge: 退院
After staying at the hospital for 5 days, we were finally sent back home.
病院に５日間入院後、ついに退院！
We put Edo in this new car seat. He looked quite comfy. It is kind of weird feeling that Edo already has his own space in our little car. :)
エドをこの新しいチャイルドシートに入れて、いざ家へ。エドも気持ちよさそうにねていました。車にエドのシートがあって、何だか、とても不思議な感じです。
家に帰ったら、母がおいしい手料理で迎えてくれました。
At home, my mom welcome us with her wonderful foods.
It is nice to have meals like this at home. I missed this kind of setting a lot when I was at hospital.
こうやって、家でゆっくり食べるごはんって、やっぱりいいもんです。

Magnafiume visit at a hospital: エンリコ夫婦の面会
Magnafiume came to the hospital to visit us. It was a nice moment at the hospital after my difficult delivery.
エンリコ夫婦が来てくれました。難産の後、病院での初めてのいいひとときでした。
Looking at this picture makes me feel that our family is really growing.
こういう写真をみると、家族が大きくなっていってるんだなぁとつくづくと感じます。
Ale had been extremely helpful and supportive through my pregnancy. During my stay at the hospital, he also stayed at the hospital to take care of me and Edo. I feel that we have become a really family.
アレは、妊娠期間を通して、いろいろしてくれた。入院中も、病院に泊まってくれて、私とエドのために、いろいろかけまわってくれた。何だか，家族になったんだなぁとつくづくと思った。
Thanks to Elisa and her wonderful camera, this photo shot is one of my favorite photos. Since Ale is the one who had to take many pictures, there were not many picture or almost no pictures at all that had Ale and Edo. Thanks, Elisa. Also, after looking through Elisa's photos, we have been thinking of a new camera to buy... maybe.
エリザとエリザの素敵なカメラのおかげで、この写真は、私の大好きな写真の一つ。アレが、カメラを持って写真をとらなきゃいけないから、どうしても、アレとエドの写真ってのがあまりないし、というか一枚もなかったのだけど、エリザのおかげで、こんな素敵な写真が。エリザの撮ってくれた写真をながめていると、新しくていいカメラを買うのも悪くないなと思えてきました。

EDO has finally arrived!: エド（英土）誕生！
After a long wait, finally Edo has arrived on the 11th of July, 2009.
He is 8 lbs. (3600 g) and 19 inches.
ついに、エド（英土）が７月11日（土曜日）に生まれました。
体重は3600g、身長 48 cmです。

Edo is a healthy, happy, good boy! We hope he will be like that for the rest of his life. :)
エドはとっても元気で、ハッピーで、いい子です。エドのこれからの人生、このまま、こんな感じでありますように！

Good luck or we are just simply stupid?!
ラッキーなのか、それともただおばかさんなのか？！
When we were eating cherries, Ale told us that if you can eat cherries like this way, you would become lucky. (According to his grandmother.)
さくらんぼを食べている時、こんな感じで食べられたら、ラッキーになるよ〜とおばあさんが教えてくれてたと。うそみたいな本当の話なのだとか。

The 4th of July dinner:独立記念日の夕べ
Since we thought that our baby would be born over the weekend, we did not go out anywhere during this long weekend.
この週末に産まれるかもしれないので、連休だけどどこも行かずじまいでした。
Instead, we went shopping and found very nice/fresh looking mussels and clams, so we had some shells night.
でも、買い物に行って、おいしいムール貝とあさりを買ったので、今晩は貝祭りでした。
This is the Bongole Pasta that Ale cooked for us.
これは、アレが作ってくれた、ボンゴレパスタ！
We bought a lot of clams, so the past had tons of clams. :)
アサリをたくさん買ったので、たくさんアサリが入ったパスタになりました！

My mom has arrived: 母到着！
My mom came to California for helping us. I thought that our X day would be here very soon.
母が手伝いにカリフォルニアに来てくれました。本当にもうすぐなんだなぁと思いました。
Nice to have my mom here because we don't have to go somewhere to have authentic Japanese foods. She started making a lot of good stuff.
母がいてくれると、本場の日本料理が家で食べられるのは本当にありがたい。さっそく、美味しいものを作ってくれました。
My mom likes red wine and Ale is enjoying his company for drinking wine at home.
母は赤ワインが好きで、アレもこれで家でワインを楽しめるみたいです。
Dishes on our table became a lot more fancy, thanks to my Mom.
我が家の食事のレベルが一気にあがったようです。
Ale cooked a nice meat with BBQ and we ate it with rucola.
アレが、お肉をBBQしてくれて、ルッコラと一緒に食べました。
