鹿：鹿はだれに付いていくべきか知っているみたい。アレのお父さん、狙われる。

For deer Silvio is not more attractive than Alessandro. Somehow Ale can attract animals easily. (something common between them??)

鹿にとって、アレッサンドロほど魅力的な人？モノ？はないみたい。（シルビオもアレにはかなわないみたい。）なぜかアレには動物を惹き付ける力があるみたい。（アレと動物には何か共通するものがあるのかしら？）

Olives: Ale is crazy about olives. Thanks to Ale, I started liking olives these days. (for me, olives are relatively new food to eat. I don't recall my eating them as a kid.) We got 4 or 5 different kinds of olives (green, black, sicilian, etc.). Ale asked me which is the best, but to me, it's hard to tell.. after all they are all olives.

オリーブ：アレはオリーブに目がない。アレのおかげで、最近では私もオリーブ好き？になった。（でも、子供の時に食べた記憶もないし、オリーブ自体、私にとっては新しい食べ物なのだけど。）４、５種類のオリーブを手に入れ、アレからどれが一番美味しいと聞かれた。どれって言われてもね、、所詮、全部オリーブでしょう？と思ってしまうのだけど。

Spinach Quiche: Whenever I make any kind of quiche, Ale looks really happy. He enters the apartment and goes, " Smells really nice! Wow, Oishisoo (it looks tasty)." It does not take Ale a long time to finish any quiche. :)

ほうれん草のキッシュ：アレはキッシュが大好きなようで、どんなキッシュを作っても喜んでくれる。キッシュの日は、アレは帰ってきてアパートに入ると、「いいにお〜い！スゴ〜イ！オイシソ〜」。というわけで、キッシュの晩ご飯は、あっという間に終わってしまう。（作るのには、結構時間がかかるのに、、）

Pre-Halloween Party at Eiko's place: Eiko invited us to their apartment for dinner. We talked about unbearable foods such as natto, Surstromming (fermented herring), durian fruit, macedonian yogurt, etc. Yes, we picked the right topic for Halloween. hehehe

永子さん宅にてハロウィーンパーティー：永子さんが夕飯に招待してくれた。トピックは、もっぱら食べられない食べ物についてだった。納豆、シュールストレミング（発酵ニシン）、ドリアンフルーツ、マセドニアのヨーグルトなど。こわ〜い食べ物だったので、ハロウィーンにはもってこいの話題だったと思うけど、、。

Dinner at Giorgio's place: Giorgio made this healthy Asian? Indian? recipe. It was really good as you could tell from Ale's facial expression. :D

ジョルジョ宅にておよばれ：ジョルジョが、カレーのようなアジア料理のようなものを作ってくれた。アレの表情からもわかるようにとてもおいしかった。

Toilet paper holder: We bought a bunch of toilet papers on the other day. Ale wanted to carry them on his own way.

トイレットペーパー：こないだ大量のといれっとぺーパーを購入。アレが、「写真撮って、撮って」というもんだから、、、。

Playing tennis: We went out for tennis last night. Ale and I played it just for fun for a while, but when it comes to fun-play, Ale doesn't move much. (no chasing balls, no running). So we started playing some matches. Then Ale became extremely aggressive to get wins.

テニス：昨晩はテニスをした。はじめは、楽しく打ち合いをしていたのだけど、アレはこういうのになると、あんまり動かない。（反れたボールは追いかけないし）というわけで、少しゲームをしたところ、やっぱりアレはすごく勝ち気なプレーに変わった。

Piccioncini: Silvio sent me this picture, which I (also Ale) like. Ale's parents went to Viena for the weekend. I like the idea of travelling together and being "piccioncini" like them even when we get older. ^o^

キュートなカップル：シルビオ（アレのお父さん）が送ってくれたこの写真が私（アレも）は好き。アレの両親は週末ウィーンに行ったらしい。こんなふうに年をとっても一緒に旅行したりキュートなカップルでいたいなぁと思う。

Tagliata alla rucola: Ale wanted to cook this recipe for a long time. (Unlike the last meat recipe), this one turned out to be a wonderful dinner dish. Thanks Ale.

タリアータ•アラ•ルーコラ（牛肉とルーコラ）：これは、アレが長い間作りたいと思っていたレシピ。（こないだの肉レシピとは大違いで）、これは、本当に美味しかった。アレ、ありがとね。

Cheers!: Our dinner was over right after this photo was taken because both of us were really hungry. (it was already 9 p.m.) After dinner, we got really drunk even though we just had one glass of wine for each.

かんぱーい：二人ともとてもお腹がすいていたので（既に９時をまわっていたし）、この写真を撮って間もなく夕食は終了。ワインをグラス一杯飲んだだけなのに、夕食後、二人ともぐでんぐでんによっぱらってしまった。>o<

Fruits: After meal, we usually eat fruits. You see peaches all year long in California, but I miss Okayama peaches. So we went to a Japanese supermarket nearby to get this huge peach, but it turned out to be Japa-fornia peach. (not Japanese nor Californian)

フルーツ：食後は、たいていフルーツを食べている。カリフォルニアでは桃が一年中あるみたいだけど、私にとってはやっぱり岡山の桃が懐かしい。というわけで、近くにある日本のスーパーに行ってこの大きな桃を買ったのだけど、この桃「じゃぱふぉるにあ」ピーチだった。（日本の桃でもなく、カリフォルニアのピーチでもなく、、）

AIDAM-kun: We invited Alessandra, David and their son Aidam to our place to have dinner. Aidam is 4 years old and speaking both Italian and English. Soon after dessert, he dressed himself and said, "andiamo?" He is extremely cute and friendly.

アイダム君：アレッサンドラ、デービット、彼らの息子アイダムを夕食に招待。アイダム君は４歳にして、イタリア語と英語をぺらぺらと話し、デザートを食べ終わるやいなや、ジャケット、帽子、リュックを背負い、「じゃ、そろそろ私たちは失礼します（イタリア語で）」と。とてもかわいくて、フレンドリーな子供でした。

Trip to Cosco!: We finally made a trip to this super gigantic supermarket called COSCO! Enrico is a representative of COSCO, so he brought us here to prove how wonderful COSCO is. And yes, thanks, Enrico, we really enjoyed exploring in the shop!

Ale with his new knife: Ale's parents gave him this knife as a wedding gife in Japan. In fact, he kept saying that this knife is too good to use. We finally got good (tough/thick) meat to use this knife. :)

新しい包丁を手にするアレ：アレの両親が結婚プレゼントにとアレにくれた包丁。実際、この包丁は使うのがもったいないよと言って、一向に使おうとしないアレ。やっと、（固くて分厚い）いい？肉のおかげで、この包丁を使うことができました。^O^

Dinner: Meat was ... it looked gorgeous! And it was good for my jaw! I guess we should buy a good (tender) meat for our jaw next time. :P

夕食：肉は、、見る限りはおいしそうだし、それに、たぶん顎にもよかった？！（ずっとこういう肉を食べてると、アントニオ猪木になってしまうと思う。）今度は、（包丁のことよりも）顎のことを考えて、柔らかくていい肉を買うべきだなぁと思った。

Cappuccino in the morning: In spite of being Italian for 32 years, Ale did not like drinking coffee until Ale met Emiko. Now Ale became a real Italian who even drinks Espresso. The first thing Ale does in the morning is to make cappuccino for me and himself.

朝のカプチーノ：イタリア人なのに、アレは私に会うまでコーヒーが嫌いだった。それが、今ではエスプレッソも飲むまでのイタリア人に成長。アレが朝起きて最初にすることは、私と自分のためにカプチーノを入れることなのら。

Dinnder at our place with Elisa and Enrico: They came to our place for the first time. Ale cooked Gnocchi alla romana and I cooked miso-soup, beef-steak with some vegetables, and sweet potatoes. Enrico seemed to like the lamp a lot. :P

エリザとエンリコを夕食に招待：初めて家に訪問。アレはニョッキアロマーナを、私はみそ汁、ステーキ野菜添え、スウィートポテトを作った。エンリコは、部屋のランプが気に入ったよう。

Dinner at our place with Arpita and her husband: Ale and Arpita were lab mates at Staford until she graduated. Ale looked really happy to talk to her about his lab, professor(s), and job-hunting.

アピータと旦那様を家に招待：アレとアピータはスタンフォードで同じ研究室で机を並べた仲。彼女は既に卒業したものの、研究室や教授、就職活動の話でかなり盛り上がっていたみたい。

San Francisco with Giorgio & Marie: Giorgio found this wonderful furniture sale in the city, so he took me to the city while Alessandro was having his job interview this afternoon.

Greeting Card: Marriage requires a lot of (fun?)work. This is one of them and I got to know so many relatives of Alessadro's through this work. :O

挨拶状：結婚にあたって色々することがある。これもそのうちの一つで、この作業で、アレッサンドロの親戚の多さ（イタリア人マフィアネットワークみたいな？）を知ったような気がする。(^-^;A

↓Abbiamo finito!! : It took us more than we thought to finish these cards. We stayed up until 1 or 2 a.m. "Attento! La tua cartolina sta arrivando!"

↓できたっ！：このカード作業、思ったよりもかなり時間がかかり、終わったのは深夜１時、２時だったかしら？　『イタリアのみなさん、まもなく手元にカードが届きまっせ！』

Purchase of Laser Printer: Ale fell in love with this printer and bought it. This printer does both sides print automatically (save papers) and prints 21 pages per minute. To be honest, I am not quite sure how good this printer is, but I am happy to see Ale is happy. :)

レーザープリンタ購入：アレがこのプリンタに惚れ込んで、購入。自動的に両面印刷してくれ（紙の節約）、一分間に２１ページ印刷できるとか。でも、正直言って、私にはこのプリンタの良さがいまいちわからないのだけど、アレがうれしそうだからいいかなっと。

Giorgio's visit: Girogio came to our place to have dinner with us. We had Shio-Yakisoba, Ume-shu, red-wine, chocolate icecream and organic peach pie (Giorgio brought).

Le Creuset: the wedding present from Yasumoto Family -Vietnam branch. In spite of this cute look, this pot is amazingly heavy. I am now looking for some new receipes with using this pan. :) The first thing I cooked with this pan was of course white rice! It was really good. :D

ル•クルーゼ：安本家ベトナム支部からの結婚祝いのプレゼント。こんなかわいい見かけなのだが、驚くほど重い。この鍋を使ったレシピを探し中。でも、この鍋での最初のレシピは、白米。美味しかった。（アメリカでの計量カップが大きすぎたのか、すごい量の白飯ができた。アレは、「何日分？」と苦笑いで聞いてきた。）

Sunday breakfast: The best way to get Alessandro out from his bed is to make nice breakfast, so this morning, I made French toasts for him.

日曜の朝ご飯：アレは朝が弱く、こちらも起こすのに一苦労。でも、少し手をかけた朝ご飯を作ると、３分以内にはテーブルに。今朝は、フレンチトーストにしました。(^-^)


Bike Ride: Since Ale bought me a nice bike, we went for bike riding this morning... However, I got a flat tire. :( The tire of my NEW bike... (Photo: Ale in the middle of repairing it.)

Friday night at Moroccan restaurant: Elisa and Enrico found this restaurant on TV show. This moroccan restaurant is supposedly one of the best moroccan restaurants in S.F.　Even though none of us really know what Morccan food is, so how would we know this is the best?!?! (Ale had niman ranch lamb shank: I had couscous aziza.)

モロッコレストランへ：エリサとエンリコがテレビで紹介された、サンフランシスコで一番のモロッコレストランの一つとか。でも、ベストと言っても、私たちにとって、モロッコ料理自体よくわかってないから、メニューを見て、注文するのに苦労したなぁ。（アレは、ラム肉のshankを、私は、couscous にしました。

Dessert: Again, we had a difficult (fun) time to understand their menu. So Elisa and Enrico had cake with toasted pecans, yogurt creme anglaise. Ale and I had caramel gelato, fluer de sel toasted almond shorbread.

デザート：メニューを見ても、何を頼んでいいのかわからず、結局、エリザとエンリコは、ピカン、ヨーグルトソースのかかったケーキを注文。アレと私は、キャラメル味のアイスにクッキー添えにしました。

New Bike (+lock+light): Ale bought me a very new and wonderful (&expensive) bike. Here bikes are very expensive: Even cheap, dirty, and used bikes cost $199. Without bikes, it takes forever to get to your destination. :( [ For example,To swimming pool: used to be 20 mins, NOW 5 or even less minutes by bike.]

自転車（鍵＋ライト）：アレが結婚プレゼントとして新品で高級な自転車を買ってくれた。こちらでは、自転車の値段はとても高く、安っぽくて、汚ない中古ちゃりでも２万円するから信じられない。でも、自転車なしだと、どこに行くにしてもかなり時間がかかる。（例：プールまで：以前２０分、自転車だと５分弱）

Pasta Carbonara: Just like some Japenese have to eat rice at least once a week, this Italian needs pasta. Ale has been in mood for carbonara for the last three days. His dream finally came true! Yammy! :D

カルボナーラ：週に１回は私が白米が食べたくなるように、イタリア人はパスタがムショウに食べたくなるみたい。ここ３日間、アレはカルボナーラモードだったみたいで、（私の「うどん」を却下して）、やっとカルボナーラを食べられて満足だったみたい。

Apron Vertical Knot: Uhm... not only Nekomura-san, but Alessandro does too. *O*
