Claudio: クラウディオ
I think Claudio is such a funny comic character.
クラウディオって、漫画に出てきそうなおもしろキャラだと思うのです。

For the last lunch in Santa Barbara, we went to a fancy restaurant. Claudio ordered "lobster ravioli".
サンタバーバラでの最後のお昼に、ちょっと高級レストランで昼食を。クラウディオは、「ロブスターのラビオリ」を注文。

Just two ravioli.. I couldn't help but laughing... JUST two...
来たのは、小さなラビオリ二つ。笑いを堪えることができませんでした。だって、たったの二つなんだもん。
Claudio is moving back to Italy in 2 weeks. So he is getting rid of his audio stuff. He gave us two speakers.
あと２週間でイタリアに帰国とのこと。集めたオーディオデッキも何とかせねばならず、そういうわけで、私たちも、２つのスピーカーをもらった。

Walking along the beach: 海辺の散歩

It was a nice walk, but rather chilly.
心地よい散歩だったけど、ちょっと寒かった。

Nice to be with Claudio, who always makes us laugh.
いつも笑わせてくれるクラウディオと一緒に。

We came to this famous seafood restaurant. We had to wait outside for one hour to get this table where we felt freezing cold. The foods were overrated.
サンタバーバラでは有名というこのシーフードレストランへ。外で待つ事、１時間。与えられた席は、二階のこんな寒いテーブルでした。料理もいまいちだった。

I Madonnari Festival Chalk Painting at the Mission:
聖母マリアフェスティバル：チョークで描く絵画

There were many paintings on the ground. We took a look at them one by one.
地面にいくつもの絵が描かれていて、それを一つ一つ見て回った。

There were many people visiting here to do the same as we were doing.
私達と同じように、多くの人が訪れていた。

This is our favorite painting because of the theme of the painting.
これが、私達のお気に入り。この絵には、おもしろいテーマが描かれているみたい。

We were taking a break. 休憩中。

Ale tried. Guess what happened after...
アレも挑戦。この後、何があったでしょう？

Ale tried again and could stay like this for a while.
（負けず嫌いの）アレは、再び挑戦。こんな感じで、かなりバランスがとれるようになりましたよッ。
I tried too. Look!

Trip to Santa Barbara: サンタバーバラへ
Claudio invited us to Santa Barbara, so we drove 7 hours down from here.
クラウディオが、サンタバーバラに招待してくれたので、ここから７時間かけて車ででかけた。
We took a walk to the main street from Claudio's apartment. We found this old tree on the street.
クラウディオのアパートからメインストリートに向けて散歩。その途中で、この古い木を見つけたので一枚、こんなんを撮ってみました。

It was very warm and nice in Santa Barbara. Me with Claudio.
とっても暖かくていい天気だったサンタバーバラ。私とクラウディオ。

Claudio went to a fish market for us to get some nice shrimps. We made pasta with shrimps. They were really good!
クラウディオが、魚市場で美味しいとれたてのエビを購入してくれていた。それを使って、さっそくエビ入りパスタを料理した。美味しかった。

Welcome dinner: おかえりディナー
I was back in Japan for two weeks alone, leaving Ale alone in California.
２週間の一時帰国をしていたので、その間、アレッサンドロは一人カリフォルニアに残っていました。
He prepared this many gnocchi the previous night for me.
帰国前日の夜に、せっせと、こんなにたくさんのニョッキを作ってくれてました。

This many... こんなにたくさん。

Also, there were gorgeous nice flowers on the table with a bottle of my favorite white wine.
そして、テーブルの上にはとってもゴージャスで素敵なお花が、私の一番好きな白ワインとともに置かれていた。

I guess I should go somewhere often if I can get this nice treat from Ale. :P
こんな風にしてくれるんだったら、もっといろんな所に行くべきかしら？へへ

還暦の祝い：Celebration for my father's up-coming sixtieth birthday.
For my father's big birthday, we, as his children, organized this sushi dinner in Okayama. It was a nice gathering.
還暦を迎える父のために、子供達で何かしようということになり、岡山での寿司の宴をアレンジした。久しぶりに集まれてよかった。


疑似家族：Tonbe (my younger brother), Minami (my older brother's daughter), Chiichan (Tonbe's wife). They looked like a nice family. :P

Minami's fingers are too small to make a "peace" pose. :P
茉南実の指はピースサインをするにはまだ小さすぎるか！？

Good Treat: おいしいおもてなし
Whenever I go back home, my parents feed me with good-quality foods. This time was not an exception.
家に帰ればいつも、両親は美味しいものを食べさせてくれる。今回もそれは例外ではなかった。

Korean BBQ: 焼肉屋へ
Chiichan could join us. we ate so much...
ちーちゃんも一緒に来てくれた。食べ過ぎたかも、、

Last Hikari Shinkansen back to my hometown:
終電のひかりで、岡山まで帰る

Look how empty this Hikari is. These days there are many more "nozomi" (faster train) shinkansen, so I was all alone all the way from Osaka to Okayama.
このひかり、本当にがらがらでした。最近は、のぞみの本数も多いし、早いからだろうな。私は大阪から岡山まで、ずっ〜と、一人、この電車に乗っておりました。ちょっと、贅沢な気分。

We haven't met for a long time, so my friends organized a little dinner party at an Indian restaurant for me. :)
しばらく会ってないので、友達がインド料理でディナーをアレンジしてくれました。美味しかった、、が、
This guy is an owner of this restaurant, but he came to our table too often to talk to us. I guess Furupon was his favorite?! :P
この人、このインド料理屋のオーナーだとか、しきりに私たちのテーブルにやって来ては話しかけてきたのだけど。フルポンは、どうやら彼のお気に入りのよう。

Mom's Okonomiyaki:母のお好み焼き

My mother asked me what I wanted to eat, so I requested her okonomiyaki. I haven't eaten it for a long long time. It was really good.

母に何を食べたいと聞かれて、「お好み焼き」とリクエストした。さっそく作ってくれたお好み焼きはとってもおいしかった。懐かしい味だった。いいもんです。

茉南実の成長：Amazing Minami
I was quite surprized how much Minami grew up as time passed by. There were so many things she can do by herself..
茉南実の成長には驚かされる。この数ヶ月、いや数日だけでも、いろいろな事が自分でできるようになっているようだ。たとえば、、Put her CD to dance? 　気分に合わせて、CDを選んでプレイヤーを操作することも。

Kumi's new apartment:久美の新しいアパートにて

Kumi invited me over at her new apartment in Tokyo. She prepared a course menu for me, which was really really good. (too good and I forgot to take a picture of them before I ate them.:P) If any of you had a chance to go to Kumi's place, make sure that you go to her restroom. (Amazing...)

久美が、東京の新しいアパートっていうかマンションだなぁ、に招いてくれた。私のためにと、わざわざコース料理を用意してくれていたのだけど、すごく美味しくてびっくり。写真を撮るのも忘れてがっついてしまった。久美を知っていて、彼女の家に招かれた方は、必ず彼女のお手洗いをチェックするのよ〜！（すんごいから、、）

Meiji Shrine Visit: 明治神宮へ

Hiroaki (my older brother), Minami and I went out one Saturday afternoon to visit Meiji shrine. It was a really warm sunny day, so there were so many people out there. There are so many interesting places to visit in Tokyo... not enough time.

兄、茉南実と一緒に土曜日の午後、明治神宮を訪ねた。とっても暖かくていい天気だったせいか、お出かけする人は多かったみたいだ。東京には、このように、おもしろそうな所がいっぱいあるのだけど、やっぱり時間がないなぁ〜。

A wedding ceremony was taken place when we were there. I did not have a chance to wear a Japanese traditional wedding outfit, but I really thought that the kimono was beautiful.

訪れた時に結婚式が行われていた。私は和装のチャンスはなかったけど、改めて、着物っていいなぁと思ってしまった。

Things to do in a park: 公園でできること
I went to the park nearby with Minami (my niece) one morning...
