Chef Claudio:シェフ・クラウディオ
On our way back from S.F., we stopped by a supermarket and bought some ingredients for dinner. Claudio offered to be today's chef. :)
サンフランシスコの帰りに、スーパーに寄って晩ご飯の買い物をしました。クラウディオが今日のシェフになってくれました。楽しみ、、、。
Scallops (big ones and small ones). They were really really good! We ate them with salad and baguette.
貝柱（大きいのと、小さいのと）。とっても美味しかった〜！これをサラダとフランスパンと一緒に食べました。
It was a nice night...
とってもいい宴でした。
This is the second dish, called "ragu'" It was really really good. Claudio Chef made a week-portion of "ragu'", so we will be enjoying this sauce for the rest of week.:)
これが、メインの「ラグ」と言うパスタで、とっても美味しかった。クラウディオはこのラグを１週間分ほど作ってくれたので、どうやら今週はこのソースを使った料理を楽しめそうです。何を作ろっかなぁ？

To San Francisco Pride: サンフランシスコプライドフェスティバルへ
S.F. is famous for a gay friendly city and this festival has been taken place here for 38 years.
サンフランシスコはゲイにやさしい町として知られていて、このフェスティバルも今年で３８年目を迎えるようで、せっかくだからと足を運んでみました。

Before going to the place, we went to this Japanese bento place in S.F. for our lunch.
行く前に、サンフランシスコの日本の弁当屋に行ってランチを買って海岸沿いで食べました。
S.F. is an interesting city. You see many interesting building and arts in the city. A lot of furniture are attached to this building...
サンフランシスコは面白い町で、おもしろい建物や素敵な建物、そしてアートが見られます。で、今日のアートは、こちら。本物の家具がこうやって建物にくっつけてありました。
There were many people in this event. A little bit shocking scenes too, but it was interesting...
かなりの人が来ていました。でもって、ところどころで、かなり過激な物を見る事もありましたが、ま、おもしろいイベントかなぁと。

Jin Sho with Claudio: クラウディオと陣匠へ
Claudio came to our place today (Friday) from Italy and we took him to our favorite sushi restaurant "Jinsho" since Claudio likes sushi.
クラウディオがイタリアから来たので（金曜日に）、最近私たちのお気に入りの寿司屋の陣匠にお連れしました。クラウディオは寿司好きなので、試してもらうことにしました。気に入ってもらえたかな？
We ordered some nigiri to share.
にぎりを単品注文して一緒に食べました。
We were really hungry, so they were a little bit annoyed by me taking a picture...
とってもお腹がすいていたので、写真をとるって言うと、少し迷惑そうな二人。
This is a picture especially for my mom. We came here with my mom too and she wanted to order sushi dinner set but we did not. So instead, we decided to take the set this time and this is it, not bad, huh?
これは、母のために撮った写真。というのも、ここに母とも来たのだけど、母は寿司ディナーセットを頼みたそうだったのだけど、結局却下だったので。で、今回は頼んでみました。で、来たのがこの一皿。なかなかいいねぇ〜といいながら完食しました。

うちの母が来るというので、来る前から「ぜひ家に来てもらって〜！」と言ってくれていたので、お言葉に甘えて、、、

テーブルクロスもひかれ、、、とってもいい感じでした。
They put a table cloth on the table and the table looked very nice.
メニューは、カルツォーネ（ピザと同じ材料だけど、こういう感じで半円にサンドしてオーブンにいれて焼いたもの）とルッコラ。
The menu was "Calzone". (the same ingredients as a pizza, but they closed a dough and put it in an oven to cook.)
私と母。母さんは写真うつりがいいのか、若く見えるみたいで、店に言っても、よく友達？とか、姉妹？とか、うらやましいです。
My mom and me. My mom might be photogenic or something and looks young. When we went to shops, we were mistaken as friends or as sisters. kind of nice...
アレはラバルバロケーキを。そして、エリザは特製エリザティラミスを。
Alessandro baked a rabarbaro cake and Elisa made her special tiramisu'.
After our long and full-filling lunch, we took a walk to Berkeley to digest. :P
とってもお腹いっぱいで長いランチを終え、バークレーのキャンパスまで散歩しました。っていうか、食べ過ぎで歩こうってことになったので、、、。

Cortez:コルテッツ
サンフランシスコのシンフォニーのコンサートに行く前に、サンフランシスコでディナーしました。このレストランは、ミッシェランで一つ星がついた所で、行く前から楽しみにしてました。
Before going to San Francisco Symphony concert, we had a nice dinner in S.F. This restaurant received one star from Michelin Guide book and I was really looking forward to this place.

Before they took us to our table, we had a relaxing time in a sofa.

This was a fancy appetizer before our dinner.
Ale and my mom had meat like this.
アレと母はこの肉料理を食べました。
私は魚料理にしました。魚の下はアスパラガスで、上にはまいたけがのっかていて、ソースがなんとも言えず美味しかった！
I had fish dish. There were asparagus under the fish and on the top there were Maitake mushrooms. The sauce was unbelievably good.
デザートはこれ。これ、お野菜のデザートなのだけど、あっさりしつつも、甘みがあって美味しかったわ〜！。
This is dessert. This is made of vegetables, so it was not that heavy but still sweet. Very good one!
This is another dessert we had. They were also made out of vegetables.
これはもうひとつのデザート。これもお野菜から作られているのです。美味しかった〜！
また来たいな〜と思うレストランでした。
This is definitely the restaurant that we wanted to come back again.

Golden Gate Park:ゴールデンゲートパーク
サンフランシスコでどこかいい庭を、、というわけで、ゴールデンゲートパークに行って来ました。
My mom wanted to go somewhere with nice gardens, so we took her to Golden Gate Park.
ゴールデンゲートパークはとっても大きて見るところもあったけど、あまり時間がなかったので、見れたのはローズガーデンだけだったけど、、、。
Golden Gate Park was very big and good, but we did not have enough time to go around in the park much. We just went to Rose Garden there.
いろんな薔薇があるのに、敢えてこういう薔薇でポーズをとりたがるアレ。
There were so many and different flowers, but the rose Ale picked to take a picture with was this one. :(
I took many pictures of just flowers and this is one of them. I wish I had a nice camera to take better pictures. In fact, there were many photographers or people with their nice camera there to take some pictures.
こんな花だけの写真をたくさん取りました。そして、これはその一枚。こういう写真をとってるとカメラを始めたいなぁと思うけど。けっこう、プロのフォトグラファーやアマチュアのすてきなカメラを持った人が写真をがんがん取っていました。
いろんな薔薇があって、それぞれ気に入った薔薇と一枚写真をとることにしました。母が選んだのはこの薔薇。
There were many different kinds of roses and we decided to take a picture of each one of us by choosing one's favorite rose. My mom picked this rose.

Filoli Garden: フィロリガーデン
最近、母はガーデニングに興味があるので、このガーデンに行ってきました。
My mom has been doing gardening and interested in gardening, so we took a trip to this garden.
とっても晴れた日で、平日のせいか、人も少なく、ゆっくり楽しめました。
It's a beautiful sunny day and because of weekdays in June, there were not many people, so we could enjoy it better.
This garden has an orchard as well, so there are many fruits there as well. This is a pear tree.
この庭には果樹園もあって（っていうかスケールが大きすぎっ！）、いろんなフルーツもなっていました。これはちなみに洋梨の木。
There is a rose garden as well. There are many different kinds of roses here.
ローズガーデンもありまして、本当にいろんな種類の薔薇がありました。
Lavender as well. This part reminded me of Hokkaido...
ラベンダーもあって、ちょっと北海道を思い出しました。
Rose! I took a picture of each different rose, and this is one of them.
薔薇！とりあえずいろんな薔薇の写真をとったのだけど、これはその一枚。

Mom's foods: 母の手料理
My mom often cooked Japanese foods while she was here with us and we were really happy!
お母さんがよく手料理を作ってくれて、本当にうれしかったです。

WE SAW IT:見ましたよ！
Enrico did not trust us when Ale told him that we saw a bear in Yosemite, therefore these pictures are proofs.
People say that there are bears in Yosemite and we have to be careful, but Ale has been skeptical about this warning since nobody said that they have seen them.
Finally...
アレの弟のエンリコが「熊を見たよ」と言っても信じてもらえないみたいなので、この写真は証拠写真です！
ヨセミテには熊がでるから気をつけること！なんて言われているけど、アレはたぶんいないけど、観光客をよせるために言ってるんだ！と思っていた。というのも、だれも、熊見たよ！なんて言わないから、、、。
でも、ついに、、
"Something is moving over there?!"
「あそこで、何か動いてる！」

でた〜！熊だ！
But this is a little bit small and almost looks like a raccoon, but it was a small bear!
でも、ちょっと小さかったりして、アライグマちっくなのだけど、、。小熊でした。

To Yosemite Village:ヨセミテビレッジへ
We drove up to the center of the park to stay another night there.
もう一泊目はヨセミテビレッジの中だったので、国立公園の中心部に向かって車を走らせました。

ここは有名な観光のスポットの一つで、ここから滝が見えます。

This is Yosemite Fall. これがヨセミテの滝。迫力がありました。
Since we took a long walk the day before, we went for a light walk on the following day to the lake.
前日は結構長めのハイキングだったので、翌日はちょっと軽めのハイキングコースで湖まで行ってみました。この水が雪解け水だから、冷たくて足を数秒つけるだけで、麻痺するぐらいでした。
Ale was brave enough to put himself in the lake though it was freezing cold in the water. I could stay in water only for a second...
アレはこの冷たい湖にこんな風に立ってて、ある意味勇気があるというか（体温差を感じます）、私は数秒もつけられませんでした。

Trip to Yosemite National Park: ヨセミテ国立公園に
From Friday Afternoon, we drove to Yosemite to spend a weekend there.
金曜日の午後から、週末を送るべくしてヨセミテへ向かいました。
We arrived kind of late at our hotel Friday night, so no pictures from Friday, but we took off from our hotel early in the morning to the park and did hiking.
金曜日の夜、ホテルに遅く到着したので、金曜日の写真は一枚もないのだけど、翌日は早くホテルを出て、国立公園に向かい、ハイキングをしました。

This tree fell and died three hundreds years ago. This kind of tree lives 3000 years or so.
この倒木は300年ほど前に倒れて死んじゃったそうなのだけど、この種の木の寿命樹齢って三千年ぐらいなんだって。
This tree is the oldest Giant tree in the park. This tree is supposedly 1900-2400 years old.
これが、ヨセミテで一番長老とされているジャイアントツリーです。樹齢は1900ー2400年ぐらいだとか。
This part of the park has all different kinds of trees and there is a tree like this, which has been cut like this. They cut in 1895 and this tree is the only living tunnel tree in the park.
こんな風に下をくりぬいた木もあります。切り抜かれたのは100年ほど前で、今切り抜かれても生きている唯一の木なのだとか。
ま、いろんな木があるわけで、この木、なんて呼ばれてると思います？ま、人間が勝手に名付けているだけなんでしょうけど、、、。
Well, there are many trees and can you guess what this tree is called? Well, people just named this tree like this.
