Trip to the Oyster place in S.F.:
サンフランシスコに牡蠣を食べに、、、
As it gets colder, the season of oyster arrives. Somehow people around us are not so into oysters, so we made this trip alone, called "romantic/tasty date" to check how the oysters are this year. :P
寒くなると、牡蠣の季節がやってくる。なぜか私たちの周りの人達は「牡蠣〜？」ってな感じで反応が悪く、二人っきりで「ロマンチックでおいしいデート」でもするか〜ということになり、今年の牡蠣はどうかなと食べにいってきました。

This is the first plate we ordered. We ordered the mixed raw oyster plate which had 6 different kinds of oysters. After that, we figured out what to order for our second plate. :P
これは最初に注文した分。牡蠣ミックスを注文したら、そこには６種類の牡蠣がのってきました。これを食べた後、次にどれを注文すべきかを決めました。
They were all good! Very simple way of eating. Raw plus lemon juice.
どれもとっても美味しかった！とってもシンプルに頂きました。生牡蠣にレモン汁をかけて、、。
Obviously, this place was very popular. In fact, this place has been chosen for the best raw oyster restaurant in the city for the last three years. No wonder... Many people were waiting for their table.
見ての通り、とても人気のある場所です。というのも、この場所、生牡蠣レストランで、この３年ベストレストランに選ばれているのです。こういう感じでかなり人が並んでいました。
After our oyster lunch, we walked outside a little bit. Ale found a huge pumpkin there. (yes, Halloween is coming soon, so there are full of pumpkins everywhere.) I took a picture of Ale with the pumpkin, but I guess it was too sunny day, so the pumpkin was shinning in this picture. Can you see it?
私たちの牡蠣ランチのあと、少し外をお散歩。そこで大きなカボチャを発見。（そうです、ハロウィーンが迫っているので、あちらこちらでカボチャを見るのです。）このカボチャとアレの写真をとったのはいいものの、天気がよすぎて、この写真ではカボチャが光ってしまいました。見えるかな〜？

To San Francisco: サンフランシスコへ
We took a train with our bikes to S. F.
自転車とともに、サンフランシスコへ。We were almost arriving in the city. Ale slept through from our town to the city. I woke him up, so he was a little bit in a bad mood.
もうすぐサンフランシスコ。アレは、道中寝てました。そろそろ起こさねばと起こしたところで一枚。ちょっとふきげんさんです。
Yes, we biked around in the city.
サンフランシスコのまちを、自転車でぶいぶいこぎました。
A little break at the pier. ちょっと一休み。
Bay bridge behind... :ベイブリッジを背景に。
Our friend told us about this famous facaccia place in the city. We got there around 11:30 am, but all the facaccia are all sold out. Instead, we got pizza from the shop. There was a nice park in front of the shop, so we had lunch there. From left: Nikola, Dragana, Enrico, Ale, me, Elisa, and Enrico.
友人が教えてくれた、フォカッチャ（パン）で有名な店へ。１１時半に着いたのだけど、すでにフォカッチャは売り切れ。仕方なく、ピザを買いました。その店の前に、なかなかいい公園があったので、青空の下、ランチをしました。左より：ニコラ、ダラガナ、エンリコ、アレ、私、エリザ、エンリコ。
After we watched the movie, we went to an Italian Cafe in Little Italy.
映画を見た後、リトルイタリーにあるイタリアンカフェでお茶をしました。

Dinner at Enrico's.:エンリコさん宅におよばれ
Saturday night, Enrico invited us over his place. His apartment was very big and got a big kitchen to cook good Italian foods.
土曜の夜、エンリコさんがお宅に招待してくれた。アパートはとても大きく、イタリア料理をおもてなしするにはもってこいの大きいキッチンだった。Ale with the chef：シェフとアレ
After the appetizer (Mozzarella and salami), it was "pasta e fagioli" served.
前菜のモッツェレラチーズとサラミの後は、豆とトマトソースのパスタが来ました。
I really like beans in general and this pasta was really good.
豆は普通でも好きなのだけど、このパスタとの相性は格別でした。
For the second dish, it was bruschetta and chicken with lemon flavor.
次の品は、ブルスケッタというパンの上にトマトとチーズ、そしてオレガノをのせてオーブンで焼いたものと、レモン風味の鶏肉でした。おいしかったけど、お腹が本当にいっぱいになりました。
For dessert, he got us cantoccini (cookies) and we brought this strawberry cheesecake.
It was a very nice dinner!
デザートは、カントチーニというクッキーを用意してくれていた。そして、私たちは、苺のチーズケーキを持参しました。ほんとうに楽しい宴でした。

Ale seemed to be really relaxed and enjoying the time with Enrico. I thought that it was nice that Ale could have his friend from college being able to get together like this.
アレは、とってもくつろいだ雰囲気で、エンリコさんとのひとときを楽しんでいたようだった。こんな風に大学時代からの友達と今でもこうやって会えるのっていいもんだなぁと思いました。

I prepared Sukiyaki for the night. I hope Enrico-san liked it.
For dessert, we gave this "taiyaki" with its song. He seemed to enjoy the song as well as this sweet.
すき焼きでおもてなししました。エンリコさんには気に入ってもらえたかな。
デザートに、このたいやきを、「およげ！たいやきくん」の歌と共に出した。歌もたいやきも気に入ってもらえたようだ。
Sorry! no pictures for Sukiyaki. We were too hungry... then.
残念ながら、すきやきの写真はありません。とってもお腹をすかせていたので、それどころぢゃなかった、、、。

Party at Dragana &Nikola's:ダラガナ＆ニコラ宅にてパーティーDragana prepared dinner. (A lot of vegetables and potatoes.)
Yuki-san brought fruits plate.
Eiko brought an Asian salad.
We brought drinks. :)
ダラガナがメインから色々用意してくれていた。（多くの野菜とジャガイモ中心かな？）
ゆきさんは、フルーツの盛り合わせを。
永子さんは、アジア風のサラダ。そして私たちは飲み物を持参しました。

We got together like this about one year ago. It was nice to get together again like this. We had a lot to catch up with.
ちょうど一年ほど前にこうやってこのメンバーで集まった。そしてまたこうして集まり改めていいもんだなあと。お互いどうやって一年を過ごしたかを話しました。

We went our usual grocery shopping. Ale got bored from shopping, so he goes, "Look, Emiko!"
Well, he looks more Italian with this funny glasses.
いつもの食料の買い物へ。買い物に飽きちゃったアレは、「見て、えみこ！」ってな具合。
ま、こんな眼鏡をかけた方がイタリア人っぽいかな。

こちらはいかが。
Amazingly Ale's eye sight is excellent, considering that he uses computers all day long and pretty much all his life.
不思議なことに、あんなに一日中、いや彼の人生今までずっ〜とコンピュータを使ったりしてるのに、アレの視力はすごくいい。（ので、眼鏡は老眼になるまで待つことになるかな。）
