The first zucchini from our garden: 最初のズッキーニ
We ended up with a lot of zucchini plants in our garden and finally there is a big zucchini to harvest!
ま、ズッキーニだらけの菜園ですが、とりあえず、第一号の収穫です。

There are two different kinds of zucchini: The left one is the one called "Genovese zucchini" from Italian seeds and the right ones are the ones that we bought its seeds in the States. The right one did not grow after Ale cut its flower.
ズッキーニの種類は２種類で、左のはイタリアジェノバ風のズッキーニで、右はアメリカで買った種から出て来たもの。一番右は、アレがまだ大きくなってないのに、花を切ってしまったから、成長が止まったみたい。

Zucchini Flower Pasta: ズッキーニの花のパスタ
We told our aunt in Genova who gave us a lot of seeds of zucchini about how our zucchini came along. Aunt Mimi gave us a nice recipe with zucchini flowers, so we tried her recipe for our lunch this weekend.
ズッキーニの種をくれたジェノバのおばさんに収穫を報告していたら、お花を使ったレシピも教えてくれました。さっそく週末の昼ご飯に！
First of all, cut zucchini flowers, wash them and soak them in water for a while.
まず、ズッキーニの花を水に浸し、洗う。
Stir onions and add the flowers. Then add tomato puree in the end. That's it! Very summary recipe and I think we will be cooking this recipe again this summer. :)

玉ねぎを炒めたところに、お花も入れて、その後はトマトピューレを加えてできあがり！
とっても夏らしくレシピで、この夏、よく作ることになりそうです。

We started seeing some vegetables in our garden...
家庭菜園に、野菜がちらほら育ってきました！
The first zucchini: ズッキーニ（一本目です）
These are zucchini flowers. There are already many flowers bloomed, but not many zucchini yet. There are only three female zucchini flowers now.
こちらはズッキーニの花。花だけは結構咲くんですが、ズッキーニがなる雌花は今のところ３つほど。
This is a tomato. This kind of tomato costs around $4 per each almost, so we are really happy to grow ones for ourselves.
こちらはトマト。この種のトマトは、お店で買うと、１個４００円とかするから、貴重なのです。
These are cherry tomatoes. こちらはチェリートマト。
Silvio Pa is an expert of growing tomatoes, so thanks to his advice, we started getting a lot of tomatoes from one after another, so I am looking forward to our debut for a farmer's market. :P
シルビオパパは、トマト作りのエキスパートで、色々アドバイスをもらったおかげで、本当に次から次へと実っています。楽しみ〜！

ガーデニング：Gardening
Our small garden became a totally jungle after 2-3 months. We did not expect all the plants grew this well, so we finally decided to clean this garden a little bit for this weekend.
家庭菜園が、２−３ヶ月で、こんなジャングルになってしまうとは、、。どの野菜も期待以上に成長してくれたのはよかったものの、やっぱり間引きしたりしてスペースを作らなくちゃなと、この週末は少し家庭菜園に手を入れました。
This is before we cleaned. Too many tomato plants, zucchini plants, out-of-control spinach etc.
これが、ビフォアの写真。トマトの苗が育ちすぎ、ズッキーニもガンガン育ち、ほうれん草も花を咲かせてしまっていたりしてごちゃごちゃ。
Ale scooped a healthy tomato plant to a different place in our garden.
元気そうなトマトの苗を別の場所に移動。
Forgot about buying nutritious soils... Just digging and planting them!
もう、いい土をとかどうとかかまっていられないから、とりあえず、掘りおこして、植える！って感じ。
After we transferred some plants. Zucchinis, tomatoes, and cima di rappa!
これが、移動後。ズッキーニ、トマト、そして、イタリアのブロッコリーみたいなのも植えました。
This is another part that we cleaned. Tomatoes, rucola, zucchini are in this one. We have already got some tomatoes on these plants, so we just have to wait from them to ripe a little bit more.
そして、これが間引き後の庭。トマト、ルッコラ、ズッキーニだけですが、、でも、トマトの実がついていて、後は赤くなるのを待つだけ。

Plants inside house: 室内の菜園
After putting seeds in our garden, we found those squirrels and birds digging the garden, looking for seeds to eat. Therefore, we decided to plant them inside the house until they germinate. After two weeks, most of them germinated.
庭に種をまくと、リスやら鳥がやってきて、種を食べてしまうので、芽が出るまで、室内で育てることにしました。２週間で芽が出てきて、これからが楽しみです。
Zucchinis are the fastest and greatest among all.
ズッキーニが一番成長株です。

家庭菜園の経過：A little progress in our garden
2 weeks ago, we cleaned the garden and planted a bunch of stuff. Remember? Now, we started seeing some progress in there...
２週間ほど前に、庭をきれいにしていろいろ植えたのですが。詳細はこちら。で、最近、少しずつ出てきました。
After we planted all different kinds of stuff, we now got 5 different kinds of stuff there.
いろいろ植えた結果、今、５種類ほど出てきました。
From back, there is "shiso" (Japanese herb)

From front: Strawberries, green onions, cicoria
前から：野いちご、ねぎ、そして、チコリアっていうサラダ菜
And this is a questionable one... We were wondering what we planted here. In any case, we keep watering the plants, so that we will find out in the end what they are. Anyone has an idea what this is??
で、悩ましいのが、これ。なんだっけな〜とか言いながら、毎日見ずを与えています。収穫まで待つしかないかも〜？
