To Opera: オペラへ
Since Alessandro has been a great fan of operas, we went out for opera this Saturday night.
アレッサンドロはオペラ好きで、この土曜日はオペラに行きました。
The show started at 8 pm, so we had light dinner at home and went out for opera.
オペラは８時スタートだったので、うちで軽く夕飯を食べてから出かけました。

今回のオペラは『カルメン』。フランス語のオペラですが、フランス人がスペインをイメージして書いたものだけあって、音楽はとてもスペイン調。４幕からなっているけど、結構聞いたことがあるな〜という曲がところどころにあって、こういうオペラはやっぱり楽しめるな〜と実感。
This time's opera was "Carmen". It is a French Opera, but the writer wrote it with Spanish setting in his mind, so the music had somehow Spanish-flavor. There were four acts all together, but there were so many music familiar to my ears through the opera, I really enjoyed this one. I guess, in order to enjoy operas in general, I should know more opera music..

To Concert in San Francisco: サンフランシスコのコンサートに
Again we went back to the symphony concert this weekend. A typical pattern of our concert day is 1) eat out at a nice restaurant in the city and 2) concert and then 3) stop by cafe.
この週末は再びシンフォニーのクラッシックコンサートに。コンサートの日はまずちょっとおしゃれなレストランで早めのディナーを食べ、コンサート。その後、カフェでお茶って感じです。
I had "seafood special". The fish was "mahimahi", which was very tasty white fish. :P
私は「本日の魚料理」を食べました。魚はハワイでは「マヒマヒ」と呼ばれる白魚なのですが、どうやら日本名はシイラだとか。ま、とっても柔らかくておいしいお魚でした。
Ale had "meat special". It was good, but not as good as mine.
アレは、「本日の肉料理」を。美味しかったけど、私のほどじゃなかったかな。
And then we came to listen to the concert. This time our seats were "side orchestra" and we could see the performers very close to us.
で、ちょっとコンサートを聞いて。今回はサイドオーケストラというシートで、演奏者達をかなり身近に感じられる場所でした。
Then a nice cake and a cup of cappucino.
で、ケーキとカプチーノを頂きました。

Back To S.F. Symphony Hall AGAIN:
サンフランシスコシンフォニーホールへ再び
Once we bought a ticket for a concert, they started offering more tickets with some good deals, so we bought some more. :p
あるコンサートのチケットを買ったら、次から次へと色々なコンサートのチケットを割引紹介してくれるようになり、ついつい買ってしまったりして、、
We decided to try all different kinds of seats in the hall and this time we were on the top. For this piano concert, this was not really a good choice, though.
で、こうなったら、シンフォニーホールのありとあらゆる席を試してみようと思い、今回は一番上の席でした。でも、こういうピアノコンサートには、あまりいいチョイスとは言えなかった！
S.F. Symphony Hall is located across S.F. civic hall. I guess French style building it is, isn't it?
シンフォニーはサンフランシスコ市役所の向かいの建物。たぶん、建物のスタイルはフランス風だと思うんだけど、、

We went to Japan Town before going to the concert and there we found a kitchen just like my mother's. So Ale insisted on taking this picture for her.
コンサートに行く前に、ジャパンタウンに行ったのだけど、そこで、うちの母さんの台所とそっくりなのを見つけて、アレが写真を取って、お母さんに知らせるべき！と言うもんだから、、。

エンリコ夫婦とサンフランシスコオーケストラのコンサートへ
The second time to go to this symphony hall for me. This time with Enrico and Elisa. We couldn't get seats next to them, and they got their seats behind the orchestra, so we could see them too. :)
このシンフォニーホールは２度目になる。そして今回はエンリコとエリザと一緒。でもとなりの席を取れず、彼らはオーケストラの後ろの席に。というわけで、オーケストラと共に彼らも見えたりなんかしました。 Can you find Elisa and Enrico posing for my camera?
エリザとエンリコが私のカメラにむかってポーズしてるのがわかるかな〜？

Since Ale has been crazy about Mozart these days, again they played Mozart (Piano Concerto #18 in B-flat major, K.456) with other two not-so-well-known music. In any case, Mozart piece was very impressive and wonderful. We really enjoyed it a lot partially because we studied it and listened to it over and over again.
このごろ、アレがモーツァルトに凝っているので、今回も再びモーツァルトのコンサートへ。でも、今回はモーツァルトのピアノ協奏曲１８番変ロ長調とあと２曲はあんまり知られてない作曲家のものだった。ま、モーツァルトはとっても印象的ですばらしかった。とっても満足でした。というおも、おそらくこの協奏曲１８番は色々読んだり楽譜を見たり、何万回も聞いてるからかもしれないけど、、。

Magnafiume gave us the tickets as a Christmas present, so we were looking forward to this concert for a while and finally the weekend came.
エンリコ夫婦がクリスマスプレゼントにくれたチケットで、とても楽しみにしていて、やっとその週末が来ました。The pianist was very powerful and impressive.
ピアニストはとても力強く印象的だった。

He played Beethoven's piano sonata (#9, #10, #15, #8). The last one was the most famous one and surely you have heard of it. Also this piano sonata(Pathétique) is considered as one of the best 3 piano sonata. (#14(moonlight), #23(appassionata))
