Hair cut by professional: 初めてのヘアサロンへ

Edo's hair became very long and got mistaken as a girl too often. So this time we took him to the kid's hair salon.

エドの髪の毛もすごく伸びて、女の子に間違えられることもしばしば。というわけで、今回は子供のヘアサロンに初めて連れて行って切ってもらいました。

It was an Asian lady who was cutting hair without saying anything, but she did a good job, I think.

結構黙々と仕事をしてくれるアジアのおばちゃんでしたが、なかなかよい感じにしてくれました。

Halloween: ハロウィーン

Last year Edo was only 5 months old, so we did not do anything. So this is the first time for Edo to enjoy his Halloween.

去年はエドはまだ５ヶ月とかだったから何もしなかったので、今年がエドにとっての初めてのハロウィーンとなりました。

I ordered his monkey costume far in advance, but they delivered a wrong costume(lion). We had only two days before Halloween, but our monkey costume wasn't here, so we decided to go with this lion one to see...

結構早めにおさるのコスチュームをネットで注文していたのだけど、送られて来たのはこのライオンのコスチューム。ハロウィーンまであと２日しかないのに、おさるのコスチュームは届かず。そんなわけで、ライオンのコスチュームを着させてみました。まんざらでもない様子。
The day before Halloween, the monkey costume arrived. We put this on Edo, but he did not like it much...

明日がハロウィーンという日になっておさるのコスチュームが来ました。着させたところ、かなり嫌がり、こんな感じ。

でも、しっぽには興味深々！
On the Halloween day, they made a big event at his daycare too. Edo with Sora, his classmate.

で、ハロウィーンの日はデイケアでも一大イベントでした。クラスメートのそらちゃんと一緒に。
However, he totally did not care much about his costume and got into his play as usual.

でも、コスチュームのことなんて忘れて遊ぶ感じ。
Edo likes this toy a lot outside!

この手押しのおもちゃが大好きです。
This costume really fitted Edo so well.

いや〜！それにしてもちょうどいいサイズで、ぴったりでよかった！よかった！

They looked kind of tired after being monkeys. Edo with Gabriel, his classmate.

おさるも楽じゃないね〜って感じな二人。クラスメートのガブリエル君と。
On the same day, Ale's company had a Halloween party, so we went there too. Then we met Ale's monk colleague, Esteban.

同じ日にアレの会社でもハロウィーンパーティーがあるとかで行って来ました。そこでアレの同僚のステバンさんにも会いました。

That night we did pumpkin curving as well. Edo was scoping the seeds.

その晩、パンプキンカービングもしました。エドも中の種をスプーンですくってました。
Ale enjoyed?! making his own.

アレも真剣です。
After we were done, we put our works in our garden. Can you tell which one is mine and which one is Ale's?

完成後、庭に置きました。どっちが私のでどっちがアレのかわかるかしら？
On the following day, we went to a farmer's market with Sora's family.

翌日、ファーマーズマーケットに行ってそらちゃんの家族と合流しました。
Then after the market, we went to some events in Palo Alto.

マーケットの後、パロアルトのイベントに出かけました。
They were very entertaining and they enjoyed the plays a lot.

いろんな遊びがあって、楽しそうでした。
They really enjoyed throwing rings and both Sora and Edo really enjoyed it a lot!

わなげもあって、これはかなりはかなりはまったみたい！
After that, we took a walk outside. Of course Edo had his banana in his hand.

そのあと外を散歩しました！もちろん、エドの手にはバナナを持たせて、、、。へへへ。

I have never really enjoyed Halloween myself but after having Edo, this became a different/fun event for us!

ハロウィーンですが、子供がいると大きいイベントになり、楽しめました。

パン焼き機：bread maker machine.

Ale's parents bought me a bread maker machine for my birthday. I have been interested in this machine for a long time.

アレの両親が誕生日にとパン焼き機を買ってくれました。随分前から気になってはいたのだけど、、。

This is the first basic bread that I made with this new machine.

これがその機械で作った最初のスタンダードのパン。
そして、これがそのパン焼き機。

It turned out to be tasty and good!

なかなかおいしく出来ました。

I made pannetone, cranberries bread, chestnuts bread, raison bread, spinach bread etc... I also made some jams as well. And these days I use this machine for pizza dough making. I use it a lot. Thanks!

その後、パネトーネやクランベリーパン、マロンパン、レーズンパン、ほうれん草パンなどなど。そしてジャムも作ったりしています。最近ではピザの生地もこれを使っています。とても重宝しています。ありがとう！

Edo likes enjoying helping?! us.

エドはお手伝いするのが大好きです。

The vacum machine is by far his favorite thing.

掃除機はもう楽しくてたまらないみたいです。
Also going outside to clean the garden. In fact, one of his first words is "outside".

外の庭掃除も大好きです。ちなみに "outside"（アーサイ）はエドの最初の言葉の一つかな。
Also he observes well what his daddy does and tries to do the same...

お父さんが直したりしたりしてるのをよく観察してます。
When he sees the vacum machine, he will help right away no matter what!

掃除機をみたら、朝早くてもすぐお手伝い！
He is giving a nice? massage on the back of his daddy.

背中をマッサージもしてくれます。
Edo likes making things and made breads with his daddy.

何かを作ったりするのも大好きで、お父さんと一緒にパン作りをしました。

Edo also likes putting away the clean dishes from the dish washer, throwing some trash away, setting a table for dinner, etc. I hope Edo will be like this for ever...

この他にも食器洗い機から洗った物を片付けたり、ごみをすてたり、晩ご飯のテーブルをセッティングしたり、いろいろしてくれます。いつまででもこうあってほしいものです。

９月、１０月のエンリコ家族とのイベント

Soon after we came back from Japan, we got together at our place. They started playing together...

日本から帰って来てからまもなく我が家にて集まりました。二人でよく遊ぶようになりました。
We went to Berkeley to hang out. They both enjoyed jumping from the sofa.

バークレーに遊びに行きました。二人でジャンプしたりするのが大好きみたいです。
They took a nap at the same time.

同じ時に眠くなって寝てしまいました。

We rode on this train. It was fun!

この電車に乗りに行きました。おもしろかった！


楽しかったみたいで、なかなか電車から降りたがりません！

It seemed a lot of fun, so they did not want to get off from the trains.
On the other day, we went to this very new age-ish art festival together. Though it was a festival, they said that there wouldn't be any food stands, so we brought our foods with us.

山の中で行われていたとても新アート！みたいなフェスティバルに行きました。

フェスティバルと行ってもフードスタンドとかは全くないので食べ物持参で行きました。
Icy art... Edo was sucking this ice, but it seems that the artist considered Edo's sucking a part of their arts, so they did not say anything...

氷のアートだとか。エドはぺろぺろなめていたけど、アーティストの人はそのなめるのもアートの一つと見なしてくれているみたいでした。
They played with this toys as well.

フラフープも遊んでいいとかで、遊ばせてもらっていました。
We became very tired from walking around all day in nature, but it was a fun day after all.

たくさん歩いて少し疲れたけど、楽しい一日でした。
