新車購入：New Car!
Finally after our long search, we finally bought a new car. In fact, we almost decided to buy a prius and then the prius recall incident happened...　we did test drive on prius and other many cars.
ついに、いろいろ見続けて、新車を購入しました。ま、プリウスにしようと思っていた矢先に、あのプリウスのリコールがあって、振り出しにもどり、いろんな車を試乗しました。

We got inside of Honda insight, but it seemed lower inside, so we did not like it much.
HONDAのインサイトも見たけど、やっぱり車内が低い感じで断念。
Honda Fits: I liked it and also my brother drives this one, but Ale thinks this is a little too small for us...
HONDAのフィッツ：とんべも運転してるし、結構私は気に入ったのだけど、アレ的にはちょっと小さいかなぁと。で、断念。
Audi A3 TDI: This new green technology car and fancy one... I fell in love with it and we did test drive on this too. It was a good car after all, but it was too sporty and low inside...
アウディ：グリーンテクノロジーを施した素敵な車。燃費もすごくよく、試乗もさせてもらって、まあいい車だねということになったのだけど、ちょっとスポーティーすぎるかな〜ってのと、車体が低いかなぁということで、やめました。
And we started looking into some VW cars since Audi and VW share the same technology. Firstly, we did test drive on Jetta Wagon, but it seemed too big for us at this point.
で、アウディと同じ系列のフォルクスワーゲンの車もチェックし始めました。で、同じグリーンテクノロジーのステーションワゴンに試乗。でも、これはちょっと大きすぎるかなぁと思えました。
And after all, we bought VW Golf. It came with a sunroof and we are really satisfied with our new car!
で、結局、VWのゴルフにしました。サンルーフもついてすごく気に入っています。

Sandrino is becoming one year old soon, so we went around to find something for Sandrino.

Well, Sandrino's father wants to get a tricycle for Sandrino, so we tried several kinds.

Ale's new bike: アレの新しい自転車
One month and half has passed since Ale started commuting by bike all the way. Ale bikes for 40 minutes or so (10 km one way) every day. I felt so bad since Ale's bike was very heavy and old falling-apart bike.
アレが自転車通勤を始めて１ヶ月半ぐらい。毎日片道10キロを40分ぐらいかけて行っています。乗ってる自転車が古いのもあって、かわいそうだなぁと思っていました。
So we went to see bikes this weekend. We checked almost all the bike shops in this area and we found this nice/cute/stylish bike. I fell in love with this bike for the first time I saw! Happy Father's day for my soon-to-be-father husband!
というわけで、週末自転車を見に行きました。このエリアにある自転車屋という自転車屋を片っ端から行って、見つけたのがこの自転車。私は結構最初から一目ぼれ！とっても、スタイリッシュでかわいい自転車なのです。もうすぐ、お父さんになるアレへの、父の日のプレゼントにしました！

Ale told me that when he was biking and approaching someone on the road, they always noticed him coming even even from far back because of the noise that his bike made...
古い自転車だと、こいでいると、随分離れた所からも、「あ、誰か後ろからきてるな」ってな具合で振り向かれると言ってたけど、この新しい自転車だったら、大丈夫かな？

Exploring in S.F.: サンフランシスコ散策
It's been a while since we came to S.F. last time. It was fun to come to the city to hang out. We walked a lot today...
久しぶりのサンフランシスコ。やっぱり、いろんなお店や人がいて、刺激的です。よく歩きました。
We were thinking of stopping by a cafe or somewhere, but we missed the chance by walking around in the city. Since we still had some time before our dinner reservation, we bought two slices of dried orange with chocolate at the famous Swiss chocolate place. They were really good, but they were $5.50 for two, so we ate them slowly to enjoy them more.
お茶をしようと言っていたのだけど、歩きまわっているうちに、そういう時間もなくなり、でも、夕食まではもう少し時間があるし、、で、スイスの美味しいチョコレート屋が売っているドライオレンジのチョコがけを２つ買いました。これが、２枚で$5.50 で、びっくりしました。よく噛み締めて食べました。
Well, there are nice maternity clothes shop in S.F. too. However, my maternity life is almost over... Can you see Ale in this picture?!?!
さすがマタニティの店も結構あって、、でも、私のマタニティ生活もあと少しだから。ガラス越しにアレが、、、。
"ZARA" had a lot of items on sale, and Ale found this T-shirt and asked me to put it on and take a picture. Since we are annoyed so much by squirrels, this might be a good buy for us, but I just decided not to buy this T-shirt.
ZARA でセールをしていて、アレがこのTシャツを見つけて、試着して写真をとってこい！と。憎っ気リスのTシャツ。でも、これはセールじゃないから試着だけ。それに、もうリスなんて、見るのも嫌だから。

新しいプリウスの試乗：New Prius test-driving
The 3rd generation new Prius is out now in the market, so we went to a Toyota dealer to check it out.
３代目の新しいプリウスがやっと出たので、近くのトヨタディラーまで行ってみてきました。
It was easy to drive and also it was rather specious inside the car. Yes, we want to buy, but it is still expensive... we felt.
とっても運転しやすくて、車内も広くて、快適でした。買いたいけど、、、。やっぱり、まだ、ちょっと割高かな、、、。

Early Christmas on Magnamoto land:

Alessandro's credit card.... without realizing it, we spent a lot with it. Without realizing it, we got many points, a lot of points for us to get these items for free...
アレッサンドロのクレジットカード、、、気がつけばとっても遣っていたみたいで、知らないうちに、ごっそりポイントも溜まっていて、ポイントで、こんなものを手に入れました。
Kitchen Aid brand: We have been thinking about this blender, but it is a little bit on an expensive side, and we were not sure, but this is for free... for why not?!
キッチンエイドのブランド：このミキサー、かなり気になっていたのだけど、ちょっと高めだし（ちなみに日本円だと６万近くするみたい）、そんなこんなで、戸惑っていたのだけど、ま、ただでもらえるってなら、、ってね。
What shall we make with it?!? I have been enjoying thinking of possible recipes using this machine. In fact, this machine came with its own recipe as well.
これで、何を作ろっかな〜？夢が膨らむ〜！このミキサーと一緒にレシピ本もあって、、、楽しみ。
I would have been just happy with this small one, but Alessandro got me the other big blender as well. Now I don't have to have a muscular pain after making some sweets.
この小さいのだけでもかなりうれしかったけど、大きいミキサーももらってくれて、、、。これからは、お菓子やケーキを作っても、筋肉痛にならんですみます。そういや、最近、あんまり作ってなかったなぁ。こんなに器材を揃えてくれるってことは、何かのメッセージかしらん？

Shopping? :買い物？
While a wife was shopping, a husband can enjoy his time, this way, I guess.
買い物中、あれ？アレは？と思ったら、小声で「シャシン、トッテ！」って。
ほんま、めちゃ、うれしそうでしたが、連れて来たのは間違いだったかと思った瞬間でした。
アレの足が結構ポイントだったりする。

Shopping: ショッピング
It's Monday, but it's spring break for me. My friend asked me if I like to go shopping with her. Of course, yes!
月曜日、でも春休みな私。友達が一緒に買い物にいかない？と誘ってくれたので、もちろん行って来ました！It was a big sale, so I got these two around $20. Not bad, huh?
バーゲンだったので、この２着で２０ドルでした。悪くないでしょ？
Today's best buy were this dress and a pair of sandals. Usually this brand is expensive, but it was 75% off, so it was very reasonable. I cannot wait for the summer to come...
今日の一番の収穫は、このワンピースとサンダル。このブランドは、普通だと高いのだけど、７５％オフだったので、とってもお買い得になりました。早く夏がこないかな〜！

Yes, I bought something for Ale too, but he already went out for work with his new shirt, so I couldn't take a picture of it.
ええ、もちろん、アレにも買いましたよ。でもさっそく新しいシャツを着て仕事に行ってしまったので、写真は取れずじまい。

California Ave Farmer's market: ファーマーズマーケット
Every Sunday, all the year around, they are open. We have been frequent customers for some shops whose owner started recognizing us.
年中、毎週日曜日、行われるマーケット。最近では、私たちの顔を覚えてくれているおじさんもいたりするぐらい通っています。A sunny day like this, we see more people and more vegetables and fruits.
こういう晴れた日は、人も多かったり、野菜や果物も若干多かったりします。
They blocked cars from the street.
車両禁止となり、歩行者天国です。
This flower shop is Ale's favorite. He sells mostly orchids. They are very reasonable. Smaller ones start around $7.
アレの好きな花屋さん。蘭を専門に売ってるみたいで、値段もかなりお手頃。小さいのは７ドル（７００円ぐらいから）だったりします。
This is the stand where we usually buy our sunday breakfast. Morning buns for Ale and Chocolate Croissant for me.
このスタンドが、私たちが朝ごはんを調達するところで、アレはここでモーニングバンを、私はチョコレートクロワッサンを買います。
More flowers. These days I feel like buying cut flowers. Though they last 7 days at most, it is nice to have flowers on a dinning table, so that I can keep our living tidy. :)
花屋さんも多いかなぁ。このごろ、切り花を買いたくなることが多い。こういう花は持って７日間ぐらいだけど、花をダイニングテーブルに飾るのっていいなぁと、それに、花のおかげで、部屋を綺麗にキープしようと思えるから不思議です。

Books from Amazon:アマゾンで本を買いました。
We went to the bookstore on the other day and found some good books. Instead of buying there, we bought them on Amazon, so that the same books were a lot cheaper. Also, it is nice to receive something in the box at home. (though you know what's inside...)
先日、本屋に行っていい本を見つけました。でもって、そこでは買わず、インターネットで買いました。そっちの方が安いし、何だか家に荷物が届く感覚っていいもんです。（たとえ、中身が何かわかっていても、、。）"Living in small spaces": I like books about houses and interiors in general. This book lists nice houses everywhere in the world. Getting some ideas for our future future house, maybe.
「小さなスペースでの生活」：家やインテリアの本はもともと好きなのですが、この本は世界の色々な所にある家を集めている。いつか自分の家を持った時のアイディアのために、、かな？
"Zuni Cafe cookbook": We have been to this restaurant "Zuni Cafe" a few times. A friend of us baked a wonderful pie at a party and we really liked it a lot. We asked him to give us his recipe and he actually copied his recipe from this book. So, why not buying this book, we thought.
Very thick book with a lot of stories along with their recipes.
「ズーニーカフェの料理本」：「ズニーカフェ」のレストランには何度か行ったことがある。あるパーティーである友達がすごく美味しいパイを作ってくれたのが、すごく気に入って、レシピをもらったところ、彼はこの本のパイのページをコピーしてくれた。というわけで、じゃ、この本を買ってみるか〜！という運びとなりました。レシピに加えられた小話もなかなk面白いもんです。

To "outlet mall": 「アウトレットモール」へ
Thanks to Stanford University, we don't have any classes to teach this whole week while Ale has to work three days this week. I went to the OUTLET mall with my friend. :)
スタンフォード大学さまさまですが、今週は１週間丸々お休みなのです。アレは水曜日まで働かなきゃならないけど。というわけで、お友達と一緒にアウトレットにいってきやした。へへ。
It is nice to go there on weekdays because very few people are shopping. You don't have to wait for anything...　Also, kinda nice feeling that everybody is working while I am there for shopping..
平日に行くってのは、だ〜れもいないし、本当にいいもんです。試着にも買うにも待たなくていいし、、それになんてったって、ほかの皆さんは働いてるのね〜という優越感に浸りながらの買い物はいとよろし。

I bought this Wok. I have been thinking of buying this on-line, but it was a little bit expensive.
でもって、このウォックを買いました。オンラインで買おうかどうしようか迷っていたのよねぇ、、だって、高いんだもん、、、。

Very heavy, but heappy. そして、とっても重いのだけど、、、でも、買っちゃった〜！

At the same shop, I also bought this "Le creuset" bamboo steamer as well.. :P
そして同じ店で、このルクルーゼの蒸篭（せいろ）も買っちゃった〜！

We went our usual grocery shopping. Ale got bored from shopping, so he goes, "Look, Emiko!"
Well, he looks more Italian with this funny glasses.
いつもの食料の買い物へ。買い物に飽きちゃったアレは、「見て、えみこ！」ってな具合。
ま、こんな眼鏡をかけた方がイタリア人っぽいかな。

Amazingly Ale's eye sight is excellent, considering that he uses computers all day long and pretty much all his life.
不思議なことに、あんなに一日中、いや彼の人生今までずっ〜とコンピュータを使ったりしてるのに、アレの視力はすごくいい。（ので、眼鏡は老眼になるまで待つことになるかな。）

Our weekend shopping:
週末の買い出し

We usually go shopping for groceries every weekend. We visit several shops, depending on what we need. However, this market "Milk Pail" is our must-go shop because their fruits and vegetables are really cheap.

週末はたいていまとめ買いで買い出しに行きます。だいたいいくつかのお店をはしごするのだけど、この「ミルクペール」は外せないマーケット。フルーツや野菜が破格なのです。Looking at the prices, you will know which vegetables or fruits are on season now.
For example, the melons behind me cost only $0.99 each.
値段を見ると、今何が旬なのかがわかります。ちなみに、私の後ろに見えるメロンは、一つ１ドル以下（１２０円弱でしょうか？）
We bought 4 or 5 different kinds of peaches, 3 or 4 different kinds of prams, etc.
４、５種類の桃と、３、４種類のすももも買いました。結構、種類も充実しているのです。

Purchase at IKEA: イケヤでの購入

I have been thinking of organizing things in the kitchen nicely for a long time. And finally we bought this shelf at IKEA on the other day. Ale built it for us.

ずっと台所にあるごちゃこちゃした物を何とかしたいなぁと思っていた。そして、やっと、イケヤでこの棚を購入。アレがさっそく組み立ててくれた。

Lunch at IKEA: イケヤでランチWe went to IKEA to find some stuff. Ale got hungry, so we decided to eat here. Ale had salmon and an apple cake. I had a turkey wrap. It was cheap and good.
いくつか買いたいものがあって、イケヤにやって来た。途中、アレがお腹を空かせたので、ここで食べることにした。アレは、スモークサーモンとアップルケーキ。私は、ターキーラップを食べた。安くて、おいしかった。

Go to "Toysrus": トイザラスへ

Well... since Minami (my niece) has her two-year-old birthday, we came to Toysrus to buy something for her. Ale seemed more excited than ever. Ale said, "how about this for Minamichan?" I had to tell him, "First of all, she is a girl. And she is just two now."
I think that Ale wants to play with THIS TOY with minamichan.

みなみ（うちの姪っ子）が２歳の誕生日を迎えるので、何か買おうとトイザラスへやってきた。アレは、とっても興奮ぎみ。「ねぇえ、これ、みなみちゃんにどうかな〜？」とアレ。「みなみちゃんは、女の子だし、まだ２歳だよぉ〜」となだめることに。アレは、このおもちゃでみなみちゃんとあそびたそうだが、、、。

Yes, he found something he liked. For Minamichan, I guess we have to come back here some other time.
もちろん、アレは、好きなものをゲット。みなみちゃんのは、、、またの機会となりそう。
